This place is becoming our family's favorite campground locally. Shady camp sites. Dog doo pickup stations posted on both sides. Lots of trails and lots to do in general in Cooks Forest. The kids love the activities posted there, and the pool is top notch. The restroom/showers were built for their purpose and are kept spotless. The store is also great. The Cappuccino machine there is the first move I make every morning.

We had always visited Gettysburg, but in hotel rooms. Decided to camp last year for a week. This place was pretty nice, but we had no heads up that we were camping during bike week. (We're not bikers) Nothing against bike week, but that's not what we went there to see. Sites were uneven, and the hook-ups were not centralized. Water way over there, sewer way over here, and the electric all the way over there. So bring lots of hose and extensions and leveling equipment. Pool was nice and there was plenty to do. Loved the miniature golf. There was a beautiful Herron in the pond every morning. The store was above average, could use more camping implements though. If you stay here in the summer, the produce market across the street is a must.

The children love the modern playground, and it's in sand which really keeps the crud off of the kids. Just dust them off. The pool is great, plenty of room for everybody. And it's heated. The camp store is top rate with friendly staff. We frequent this campground every year. The temporary sites are on a slope, leveling gear is a must. Lost water pressure down to nothing one Sunday morning due to everyone getting ready to leave. So fill your fresh water tank there on Saturday and you will have no problems when running off of your pump. Plenty to do, and the Trail's End bar/restaurant just across the street has excellent food/drinks/service.
