This campground is adjacent to the Harpers Ferry visitor center and nestled among battle fields and forest. Pretty property. Surprised that road noise is minimal. Staff is friendly. Most sites are level. In summer it must be crowded because the sites are pretty close together especially in the full hookups section. The facilities are not adequate for the size of this park, and are not maintained, even during in weekdays, when the park was only 10 percent occupied. Tepid water in showers, littered with bugs, dirt, hair, even a cigarette butt. To visit the nearby sites, it is one of few choices. We would stay here again during weekdays.
It's the Grand Canyon! What do you expect? If you want to stay at the Grand Canyon and have hook ups, this is your only option. It's worth it because you can walk to everything from Trailer village. And it was quiet. It was so hot, we needed the electricity for the air conditioner. Otherwise we would have stayed in the Mather campground, (no hook ups) which is beautiful, set in the forest, with lots of space. Anyway, the trailer village campground is old, the alleys are narrow, the sites barely long enough and not level. The facilities are old, but very clean. No discount are available and you cannot choose your site.
This is a beautiful new looking park, very large, set above the town of Winslow. The light and sunset are spectacular, facilities very clean. Sites are wide and level, easy access and there is lots of space between the sites. Each site has a little tree, struggling to provide some shade. The ruins are interesting and included in the price. Follow highway directions to the park, not your GPS! Staff helpful and friendly. We will stop here again.
Nothing beautiful about this park. Staff annoyed with customers. Park is almost empty and yet the four of us customers were right next to each other. Internet did not work properly. Only one coupon code per computer, and once logged out, that's it. Very far from the lake, I am a walker and needed to drive to see it. Cable TV outlet did not work. We hooked up to the next site. Thank goodness the people in that site did not need cable. Facilities were old, not inviting, barely clean. No grass for pet. We will not return here.
Nice park, pretty, lots of space, easy access to sites, but facilities old, run down and buggy. Most sites were sloping requiring lots of adjustments. Friendly staff. I would go back with a boat. Signage to get there almost non existent.
Good access, immaculate facilities, nice club house with pool table, free coffee and donuts/muffins, and an enormous wrap around porch with rocking chairs and lounge chairs, with view on forest. Some sites are a little narrow. Road paved, sites gravel and mostly level. Very friendly staff. Book exchange in laundry room. The "steep" road to get there is not so steep..not difficult at all. Well signed from Hwy 70. Only drawback is that it's a little bit far from town..but the quiet and fragrant forest is worth the drive to town.
