Nice park to visit Charleston, although you are out on the south side of Charleston which is about 12 miles outside of town and there is a bit of traffic coming back in the evening. Road is gravel and bumpy coming in but I wouldn't let that keep me from staying there. The perimeter of the park looks to be permanent people and some sites are not so nice but you can't see them once you are in the other part. I would stay here again. Verizon signal was good there. As far as the train, it didn't bother me at all. We heard the whistle blow a few times, but not too loud.
This is a good stopover. It isn't a bad park, although there are a lot of junk trailers here and there. It also seems to be somewhat of a truck lot and garage on weekends. They have a restaurant here and the food is good. It is pen for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. We would stay here again. Price is with Passport America discount.
This would definitely be a 10 if there was sewer. Great campground and state park. There is a museum there and a bell tower that chimes on the quarter hour, and on the hour and plays Stephen foster tunes at 10,12, 2, and 4. Washers and dryers are nice sized and clean. The park host in our loop was and older couple and far from friendly. Would return.
