This campground is easy off and easy on the Trans Canada. It was open early (returning snowbirds), but it was too cold to have the water on. The park host was wonderful, informative, friendly. She even help us out with some other parks along our route home. Was easy to stay hooked up to the site; it was large enough and then some. Didn't check the Wi-Fi as I had my own. We would surely stay here again.
When we arrived we were assigned a site, easy off and on the highway, very conveniently located. We plugged into a 20 amp because all the 30 amp sites were taken. We turned on a few things and the breaker tripped, but it melted our plug before it tripped (tells me something is wrong with the breaker). It was a little noisy as this is a mobile home park as well, lots of residents and they tend to drive throught the sites beside you if they are empty. We contacted the office reference the melted plug and the possibility of the defective breaker and no one seemed to be concerned. We didn't have water as it was too cold out so it wasn't on in the park. There were some large potholes as you pull in so be careful. I might stay again but only as an overnight stay.
We called ahead; the voicemail stated they were open from 9-10am and then again from 4-5:30pm so we waited until 4pm to arrive. There was a note on the door that they were closed today all day. We self parked. Wi-Fi is available through the office where you purchase vouchers (but the office was closed). It was too cold so they did not have the water on. but water was available from a tap if you needed it. There are a ton of full time residents that live here. It was quiet and OK for an overnight stop, however I feel they could have changed the voicemail to reflect the actual situation of the office.
When we arrived we were well greeted, friendly, easy to pull in and out of. However, our electric plug in was melted on the post; we plugged into the site next door as there was no one there. The Wi-Fi worked well, as did the cable TV. All in all, it was OK for an overnight stay. There were some fulltime residents but it was quiet. Easy on and off the hwy. We would stay again for a night; it was a safe area.
We know it was the off season but they stated they were open; when we arrived we had to self park because the office was not open, not a big deal. All sites have a view of the lake. We really can't comment on the store or the beach because neither was open. However, the park was very tidy and it was great for an overnight stay. We would stay again if in the area.
For the money we paid to stay here there wasn't much to do about the park. The ghost town closes early, the washrooms were filthy, we walked around the park it was somewhat vacant. The road in was very narrow and the sites were pretty short, we have a 27'fifth wheel and we could barely fit in, we wanted to stay hooked up for the night so we could pull out early in the morning. It was a tight fit. I wouldn't stay here again unless they dropped the price, we paid our rate was for water and electricity only. No Wifi, no cable.
Our check in experience at this park was great; fast friendly service. Lots of good advice and a lot of very good information. They did such a good sell on KOA that we bought a membership. It's not the first KOA that we have stayed at but a staff member did an amazing job of explaining what it was all about and how we could use it. Anyway, the park was very very clean, well organized, and very family oriented. WiFi worked, cable TV was great. We would certainly stay here again. Easy access to highway. Love all the animals. Thanks again.
The staff were extremely friendly. They recommended a Chinese restaurant in town that we walked to. It was excellent. The park was extremely clean. The rate was a Good Sam. We were just driving through, so we only stayed one night. It was a quiet park and we had no issues. We didn't make reservations and we were lucky they had only one site available. It was a great stay we would stay there again.
The Front gate staff was friendly, and very helpful. The ice cream shack is awesome. The activity center was a little slow, maybe it was just the time of year that we were here. The park is very dated and needs a little bit of an overhaul. The sewer hook-ups were a little confusing, we had to share them with a neighbor, but yet we paid for full hook-ups. Not quite sure how that works out. Not well for us I would say. Although they post WiFi, it isn't available everywhere, only in certain areas of the park: so if it's a must for you, ask before you park. I think it's only available in the newer area of the park that is behind the front office. The larger laundry room needs new washers. The park is divided into a few different areas which makes it a little more difficult to find a friendly atmosphere. Livingston doesn't have a ton of stores. There is a Walmart, an HEB and one more grocery store, the area is depressed. Not much to do if you are an avid sightseer. We might stay here again only if we were passing through, but not for any length of time.
We stayed for 4 nights, the nightly rate posted was apparently the escapee discount price. The front office wasn't the most friendly park I have been in. The speed bumps are very large be careful, especially when walking around the park. There are many permanent or long term residents here which makes the park look a little dated. The wifi was great no issues with it, we had a problem with the cable tv, we reported it and they came right away to fix it. Quick access to I 35 and close to many stores. We don't think we would return for the price of 33.75/night, we also did laundry there, machines were clean 1.25 for the washers and same for the dryers.
We loved this park so much we ended up staying for 20 days. The sites are large, the park is quiet clean, and it is extremely friendly. The pool was closed for the season. The clubhouse always has something happening. There are no gravel pads but the parking spots are quite level. The roads are paved. They have shade tree spots if you want them. This park is very well maintained. Wi-Fi worked well. We would stay here again.
We stayed here overnight on our way south. It was the end of the season for this campground. Tthe owner was friendly and came by to check on us once we had parked to make sure we were settled in. The WiFi did not work for us (possibly an issue with my computer). All in all it was a good park for us. It is close to the highway. They were preparing for Halloween and the decorations were awesome.
We stayed here overnight, it was quite a way off the I-10 and the roads to get there were a little rough. The pool was closed for the season, it was quiet because there were not many RV's in the park. We didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling from the office.
This state park was extremely well kept. Other than one other trailer we were the only ones in the park so it was very quiet. We only stayed one night. The price was right, with water and electricity. Perfect night! The Caves were closed, but we didn't go for the tour, just to park overnight on our way to Texas.
We stayed here for one night en route to Texas. Our hosts were extremely informative, very pleasant and helpful. They have a very nice, quiet, and clean park. Wi-Fi was great and we enjoyed our stay. They made us fell welcome. We will definitely be back next year on our way back down.
Extremely clean, very well kept park. We were greeted with pleasant and friendly smiles. We filled our propane tank here. Just stayed one night on our way to Texas. Great Wi-Fi. It truly was a great park for us.
