Check in was okay. The two young girls there were snots! Very rude to say the least. Most all the sites are not maintained. The park allowed a day care to bring 3 van loads full of young children (below kindergarten age) to come into the pool. NON MEMBERS. Needless to say none of the children had on swim pants and there were accidents in the pool. They did not close the pool but just dipped out the bad stuff and left the pool open till the next day. Then they decided to keep the pool closed on the hottest days of the year! 105 plus temps. They say they have a filter problem. The showerhouse at the lodge/pool area was not clean, it really stunk bad like a dump station that was left open! My wife could not go into those bathrooms. We think this park could be nice if management would step up a little. It is going downhill. Needs a lot of work and need friendly staff for a change. Do not expect the young girls at the front desk to be nice, nor answer your questions.

Gettysburg Battlefield Resort is a total waste of money! They give one heck of a sales pitch. When you join they are good friends. After you stay a time or two things REALLY change. Thats when they start changing rules. If you read the fine fine print, they are allowed to change rules at anytime without NOTICE to you. The girls at the check-in/campstore are RUDE. My wife and I are older folks and the young girls do not want to take time with us. Only one is nice the other younger girls will not take the time to help you or answer your questions. One time we went in and asked for a certain site, the girl said it was reserved, then we looked around the campstore.. another couple came in and got the EXACT site we wanted, WITHOUT reservations!!! We were so mad. They only keep their good cabins and good sites for their friends or well known buddies. The pull though sites are mostly all mud. The lodge and pool is supposed to stay open till 10pm every night unless there is storms where they need to close the pool. We understand that. After driving several hours to get to the resort we wanted to go swimming. It was a little after 8pm and a man came into the pool and said " Time to leave, closing time!". We asked why cause such nice weather and he said "it has been a long day and I want to get back to my trailer". We paid over $6000 to use this resort.. Thats right SIX THOUSAND dollars! To get treated like this! We have tried complaining to the head guys in the Sales and Management office but they said if we keep complaining they can yank our membership away! Come to find out the PEOPLE they like can apply for a BETTER membership that cost only $3000 more! We wondered why we could NEVER get reservations even calling up to our allowed 60 days in advance. With the Ambasider membership you can reserve as far ahead as you want and they cater to you. We think this is just terrible. We were also told that when we joined the park could always accommodate us, NOPE -- NOT the case. We were turned away one time after driving 3 hours with our trailer we had to go to a nearby public campground and pay $48 a night! Oh.. thats right another thing we almost forgot is the annoying golf carts allowed. Most are old models and they stink to high heaven. Another thing that is bad is they say you can only stay 14 days. For their FRIENDS you can stay as long as you like, we have been there for the last few months to drive though and seen a trailer up on blocks that has been there for months! These people are not employees. We got taken by our membership. This is a fair warning to those who are thinking about this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go to DRUMMER BOY. It is worth the money and the facilities are so much better, not to mention the workers there are nice.

As another user mentioned this is ran by the local government, and you would think it would be kept up more than it is. First off, the town you have to go through to get to the campground is REALLY narrow and small roads with cars parked on both sides of the street. We just barely made it through, sometimes crossing into the other lane. Then there is a steep hill where again cars are parked all along the sides and you have to turn right at an intersection. Then you have to cross some REALLY rough railroad tracks that jars you to death. Okay..we though the worse was over... then next comes the narrow dirt and small gravel road full of huge potholes. There is no way you can pass another rig. We managed to get over enough so a few small cars could pass. When we got there at 3pm there was NO one at the office. You had to wait till the next morning before someone was around. The plus to this campground is it is located near the river. The shaded sites are way to small for big rigs, and are mostly for pop ups or tents. The sites for big rigs and travel trailers are just grass sites, with electric and water hookups. Most are out in the open with no shade at all. The bathrooms were some of the worst we have ever seen! My husband would not even go to the bathroom in there. That is saying something! The showerhouse and bathrooms are together in one big red building. They stunk so bad you could smell them before you got to them. The inside was all torn up and not cared for. There was all sorts of writings on the wall. The showers where so dirty we used the one we had in our trailer. The train traffic as BAD. Could not sleep cause of it. We stayed here one night until we found there was a nearby KOA and moved there for the rest of our stay. All we can say is this campground could be nice if there were LOTS of work done. We will never go back.

I don't know where to begin on this so called campground! First, it is part of Keystone RV sales. You have to go through their lot to get to the "campground" if you could call it that. We needed a place to stay that was easy to get on and off from I-81. The people there were rude and the whole time while checking in, we had sales people all over us wanting us to TRADE in our unit for a newer one! I think this is just part of their sales strategy. Once we got to the site we thought it would be somewhat peacefull so we could get some rest and have something to eat. NOPE. The sales man was driving around in golf carts. Stoped by our trailer again to talk about us looking at a new unit. My husband got so upset that they would not give us peace and quiet that we unhooked and left. We managed to find another campground just down the road, where the staff was very friendly and we got rest. Think twice if you stay here!

The staff were so rude and unfriendly! We just bought our new TT so it is like new and well kept but that did not stop their rude comments! When we asked a question we got barked at. We left. I would just stay away from this campground. There are so many other places to stay where people are warm and friendly. It is sad when mean hatefull people think they own the world.

Other than being in a historic place, this campground is not all that special if your camping in an RV. If you are tent camping, I could see you might have a better time. The RV sites are level but muddy when it rains, not to mention they are close to each other. You can hear traffic from route 340 all night long. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The staff members were rather nasty with us. If you forget something I would recommend that you go a few miles into the Charles Town Walmart, because the campstore is VERY high priced. We also stayed in their lodges and we not impressed for the $135 a night we paid for them. Also to mention: they are located right near the septic field. We will not be staying at this campground anymore. We will find a state park, before going to another KOA.

We were given a free nights stay when we bought our new travel trailer from Four Seasons RV and we wanted to try out our local campground. We drove around till we found a site we liked. Decided on one of the big rig sites because the rest of the sites were a little unlevel. The roads were VERY rough and lots of pot holes. There was A BUNCH of construction going on because they are adding a new water park. There was TONS of noise all day into the evening. Plenty of dust and dirt also. The staff members were nice. The bathrooms could use a little cleaning, and the shower rooms needed to be cleaned. The camp store was very expensive. I doubt we would ever camp there again.
