Great tent camping site. Covered ramadas on cement slab with cabinets and electric light make for easy meal prep. Raised and framed tent sites also a nice feature. This remote location is an awesome place for viewing stars. Shade a little hard to come by, be prepared for bugs or "no-see-ums" as the rangers call them. Rangers were extremely helpful and easy to see that they take great care of this site. Last time I stayed there was over 30 years ago, and it was just as I rememberd it.

This National Park campground has unfortunately become a police zone in one of the most beautiful settings in the southwest. The camp hosts, instead of welcoming you to the park, patrol with a clipboard writing down "violations" and then dispatch Armed Police Patrol Cars to each site to force compliance. Sirens can be heard throughout the day as well as police lights at night. The "violations" include - washing hands or brushing teeth in campsite, stepping on vegetation, hanging trash bag, tying up a closeline to trees, along with a myriad of other normal camping functions. We were forced to move our tent on the last night after being at the campground for 1.5 days and receiving an OK from the hosts. An armed police officer came into our campsite with a mandate as our families were sitting down to dinner and night was falling. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is not it.
