Stayed at Jumbo C.G. three nights. Best campground on the Grand Mesa for rigs over 30 feet. Quiet black top circular drive, and large tent pads at each site. A screen tent is definitely in order, as the mosquitoes are a real nuisance. But after all, this is the Colorado high country (over 10k ft elevation) with over 300 lakes. Beautiful Mesa Lakes within walking distance, lots of fishing and hiking trails, camp hosts friendly and helpful, and The Grand Mesa is magnificent!!
We stayed three nights. The sites are level pull-throughs. Very clean rest rooms and showers. Dog park and plenty of space to walk dogs. Very nice free miniature golf course. Owners very friendly and helpful. Easy entry and exit. Large shade trees cover nearly every space. Quiet, off the main road but close to Montrose downtown. Has a smaller, intimate feeling. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed in Blanco Loop C. G. -power and water available , lots of large level sites; shady sites available, quiet and good separation of sites by numerous trees; multiple choices for direction of setting up trailer, great hiking trail running through camp following along Heron Reservoir. Heron Reservoir very low level as of 6-2014; camp hosts were friendly and helpful; by far the best camp at Heron Lake St. Park for larger trailers/rvs- Sites 33, 44,46 & 60 were very nice - will definitely return to this campground.
Campground is very much out in the open; very hot, dusty and sandy; sites very close together, with very little privacy; high noise level, bathrooms smelled and full of flies. Our site advertised as a pull thru, but was not. Would not return to camp in travel trailer at this campground.
