We picked Rambling Rose as a dry camp site because Santa Rosa doesn't seem to allow dry camping and we did not want to drive 8 miles to Santa Rosa lake State Park again. The owner offered us the tent rate of $7 which was great. The owners are working hard to improve the park since they bought it. It has paved roads and clean flat gravel sites. The $5 fee to use their brand new shower/bath was worth it.They also have a new laundry room. While we were here, I had the owner groom my dog. She runs the Doggie Doo and did a nice job in her professional dog salon. I liked the owner's hard working, entrepreneurial spirit. Ramblin Rose is not particularly scenic and was near the train tracks ( as are all the parks in Santa Rosa) but it worked great for us in our motor home.
We parked on hard packed gravel that was nice and flat. The lot had a few trees and was clean enough to keep our white dog white. It was not dusty but we heard a fair amount of highway noise. Showers were acceptably clean and modern. Donuts and coffee were available from 8 to 9:30. It is next to a water park if you have kids. Our neighbors all called the Big Texan for a ride to the steakhouse in the limo. We went to Red Lobster instead. The TV and Wi-Fi worked well. They accept Pass Port America and Escapees discounts. Fine for a night or two.
Great spot to boon dock while visiting the Grand Canyon. We loved our clean scenic wooded site with a concrete patio. It was very quiet the entire 5 days we stayed there. Our rig was parked on a wide asphalt pull through which allowed us room to pull out all our possessions and get reorganized. Fresh drinking water was close to our site. The bathrooms gets cleaned daily by a forest service guy with a high pressure sprayer. The camp host was super nice and helpful. You can dump at a nearby RV park.
