Narrowest sites we have ever been in. We were here to visit San Antonio so the price was right. The wifi worked for us. There is no need to book anymore they said that they are filling the campground with pipeline workers until the project is done, whenever that is.
Very friendly check-in. Very nice gated park. Shuttle to the French Quarter $5 with 3 pickup times. Free movie about the wetlands and Katrina daily. Excellent landscaping and clubhouse. Would stay there again. Didn't get a 10 because the hot tub was not working and a couple of tight turns getting out. Rate reflects 50% P.A. discount.
Overnighted here New Years Eve on the way to RGV. Very friendly check-in, we were invited to the New Years party and potluck that evening. Very friendly fellow campers and CG owners at the party. The guy that led us to our spot asked if we were going to hook up to water and then sanitized the spigot for us then gave us a thank you card from the owners. Interesting hook ups, the rvs are off door side to off door side and the utilities are between them. Would camp there again. Rate reflects a 20% discount for P.A.
We called ahead for an overnight stop and were not billed in advance. When we pulled in, 3 other RVs pulled in behind us. When I went to register a lady hollered at the guy registering us "don't forget to hold one for (our name)." We were led to a nice level pull through. The free cable TV was excellent. The free WI-FI was a little slow, and we could occasionally hear a little road noise. We opted for the 30 amp since we wouldn't be running both A/Cs. The only complaint we have was poor signage. We saw the campground from the road but had a problem with which road to take to get to it. We saw their entrance sign when we passed the first road and turned into a gas station to get back to it but could have gone to the light at the next street and had a better road to the campground.
After reading the last reviews of this park we almost decided not to go because of the 'go cart racing noise until 1 am'. Boy am I glad we went. It is a beautiful park with NO go cart or any other sounds to bother you. We camped with our group of four 30 to 36 foot fifth wheels and had a good time in spite of the high temperatures and humidity. We had lunch at the cafe and it was very good. We definitely will be going back next year and plan on taking advantage of the canoe rentals if its not so darn hot. A couple of FYI's. The park has started taking reservations through ReserveAmerica since June 2010, and their sites maps list 30 and 40 foot long sites. Actually most of the sites can handle over 40 foot RVs with slide outs.
OK for an overnight. Our rate was for a 30 amp spot, 50 amp was $3 more. Restaurant is now closed. Had to call host or drop $ in a slot. I called and she told us to pick a site and she would come over. She was very friendly and took about 15 minutes to get here.
Great little park for overnight. Very Nice hosts. 50 amp, water, sewer & pull through. Also some goats, cats & 2 llamas. Office still open after 8pm. Recommended by Wallace state park host because they were full.
We camped there as hosts of a 7 unit brand specific rally. All units were 36ft 5th wheels and we fit into the pull throughs nicely. The clubhouse has been remodeled this year and is beautiful. We were allowed to use the clubhouse for our meals and meetings. The manager was very accommodating. Had a free movie ad a couple of 2 for one breakfasts, a 2 for 1 ice cream and free frogs legs one afternoon. It is remote but there is a town within 10 miles. Cell phone and cell internet was iffy but AT&T and Verizon did usually work. If the campground had free Wi-Fi and Cable TV it would have had a 10 rating. This campground was resurrected from a long dormant period by a very committed manager and I would expect it to only get better.
I gave this a 5 because of the location. This park is sandwiched between I-74 and a railroad track. The road noise was terrible. We camped with a group and the first night around the campfire we could not hear each other. The second night we moved the fire ring to but campers between us and the highway and it was better. The water was yellow. The 30 amp breaker tripped when A/C, water heater & convection oven ran. The hosts were excellent and their children were very hard workers. Too bad they don't have a better location.
We had a rally with 17 Doubletree Suites 5th wheel owners. There was even a site for a 38 foot unit and a 34 foot tow vehicle combo. We had a great time and enjoyed the use of the clubhouse for our activities. The owners are well on their way to a 4 star operation.
We camped here with our camping club group of five 5th wheels. The park is converted from the mobile home housing of a closed Air Force base. All sites are basically 'pull through', the host leads each unit to their site through the grass and helps them get situated on their very large spot, I would say that this is definitely a 'big rig friendly' park. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly, our group had a potluck on Saturday night and we were able to use the pavilion without making prior reservations. One big plus is that you can wash your rig at your spot. Will definitely be back to see the sights.
Our camping club was looking for a campground close to a dinner show in Schaumburg Il. This was it. It was a decent campground but I don't know that it would be a destination campground. The owners were friendly and helpful. The sites were a little small and all white rock where we were. There were some small trees in our area. I got to pull through because I was 1st in line, the rest had to back in. The WIFI worked good. Those in our group that used the showers said that they were nice. The worst part was the signage. There is a blue CAMPING sign that led 4 of us into grain storage area 100 feet before the CG entrance. Fortunately there was a circle there that we could turn around in.
Very nice park. We were one of 83 units that are members of Suites Owners International Travel Club that had our national rally at ABC May 15 through 20 2007. The staff at ABC handled everything, food, entertainment, transportation and parking. We had 2 ladies from ABC with us at all times to make sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend ABC for camping at Branson and for any group looking for a rally site.
