This was our first visit and we will definitely return. Campground is owned & maintained by the City of Oak Harbor and sits directly beside the beautifully maintained, very large city park. The city park is many acres of water front property although you can't see the water from the campground. Campground is combo of gravel and paved. Although clean the actual sites are a bit close. This ISN'T a resort campground. Some have a small patch of grass between the sites but most do not. The big sell here is the amazing city park, with every park amenity imaginable. I understand that during the summer the park has all array of weekend activities. Big down side is that they don't take reservations as there is no on-site attendant, it's first come first serve. We have been told it can be very difficult to get a site during the summer months. It is my understanding that the $20 a night fee hasn't increased in many years and is the same price all year. This one is definitely worth the stay. A big thanks to the City of Oak Harbor for a lovely, affordable, maintained campground! There should be one in every city!

We have stayed at this park on a number of occasions because it is fairly close to our home. I have to say that this resort is seriously over priced for the quality & offerings. They are banking on the park being on the water. However, unless you stay on the beach front sites 1-15 there isn't much benefit. The high season is very costly. I classify a "resort" as a campground with many, many amenities, paved sites, etc. etc. This "resort" has a very small registration office where they sell some nice native arts, a club house that you must rent to use, a small room with books, rest rooms/showers. This isn't a family type resort as there is nothing for the kids to do outside of the rocky beach. Grass needs to be maintained, pot holes need to be filled. This resort could be beautiful with some money invested. It should be noted that the resort has a wonderful paved trail the runs through it which is maintained by the City of Anacortes. Kudos to Anacortes!
