Nice park with several sites available but the bathrooms, specifically the men's was atrocious. One toilet was severely messed up and wasn't cleaned for two days! The women's was fine and I had no problem. A few sites were 50' long and nicely separated from your neighbor. Quiet and nice park. There is a little bar that is busy during the week. Our neighbor, Jeff, who is responsible in some fashion there, was extremely helpful when we were concerned about getting to the dump station in the morning - someone was parked there and he made sure they moved. The biggest issue we had was on our departure GATE 2 (which is the only RV accessible gate) is closed on the weekends, which we did not know!! Luckily for us the security spotted us heading for the exit and flagged us down to wait while he brought someone up to open up the gate for us. So it all worked out fine, but if you're planning on arriving or leaving on the weekend you should call first to find out the proper procedure. We camped here in a motorhome.
We were here over labor day and were lucky enough to get the biggest site they had for our 35' motorhome with a huge covered patio and "backyard" area. It's a funky little place where we've been before so knew what to expect. We were surprised that there was only a water and electric hook-up and no cable and sewer as others had stated on here that they had. We did not hook-up to the water. We were able to get a few local TV stations with our antenna and our Verizon MiFi, cell phone & AT&T cell phone all worked well here. We would definitely stay here again.
This is an excellent place to stop overnight. It it conveniently located off the freeway and quiet. The camp host was very friendly and the price was fantastic for FHU's including cable & 50amp. Most sites are pull-thru, as well. If we were in the area again and needed a place to overnight I would definitely return.
Beautiful campground with a lot of spots available for walk-up. Large sites and fairly level. We were able to get a good signal with our Verizon aircard, and with a Verizon cell phone, but nothing with AT&T. Quiet yet only 6 miles off the freeway. Two lakes very close to each other. We would definitely return.
Came for a night and stayed 3. Very friendly management. We were able to use PA 50% discount for 2 nights: rate showed in full rate. Very poor Verizon aircard connectivity as well as both Verizon and At&t phone. Sites were well spaced apart and there were only 3 others parked while we were here. Not too far from the sites in the middle of the UP. We would definitely come back.
Wonderful campground -quiet, secluded, large sites and fabulous bathrooms/showers. My husband commented that in our 2 years of full-timing they were the best showers yet! AT&T cell service - 1 bar, used our Verizon air card for decent connection and Verizon cell service was pretty good. Mostly level spots. Sites included an in-ground fire pit and table. There is a small pond with a circulating waterfall in it that people could swim in with a very small beach. There is a game room with 2 pool tables, only one of which was working, air hockey and some other games. They also have a slightly covered area for groups with picnic tables. The campground host/maintenance guy was great. The office has interesting hours - opening at 10 but they were never in the office when we came by. They are a Good Sam park but when I called to make a reservation I was told they had no discounts and my credit card was charged the full rate. Upon our arrival there was a big Good Sam sign at the front of the park and when I asked for my discount one of the women at the desk told me I could only use that when I purchased my membership, the other woman corrected her and then the first got kind of indignant that I actually wanted that small amount ($2.70) refunded. We stayed an extra night and went in twice to try to pay and request the discount again to be credited but at our check out they had yet to run our credit card for the second night. I hope when they do run it they apply the $5.40 two night discount! We would definitely return.
We arrived here on a Monday night without a reservation & were able to get a FHU site for a night. This campground is in a beautiful very large park & it takes a while to get in & out of the park but it is a nice place to stay. We would not return though because even though the nightly rate was only $26, they charged $8 per car (our motor-home and tow vehicle) which brought the rate up to $42 which is too much to pay. They do charge this $8/per vehicle rate for every night you stay.
We loved this little park! Yes, you are packed in tight like sardines & it's tough to get in but you are right on a lovely creek with a nice walking path and a 10 min walk into town. There is a city community center across the street with a full gym, classes, indoor pool & a lovely park. The staff was wonderful & the facilities extremely clean. We were able to get a few TV stations with our antenna.
This is one of the nicest campgrounds in the area. When we originally looked at it I was not that impressed but after staying for 5 nights (we added 3 after we got there) I really liked the place. They have a wonderful staff & a new manager who was great. The pool & spa were clean and a good temperature. The laundry room & bathrooms both were exceptionally clean. They have the most well-stocked store I have come across and their living room area was great. 2 big screen TV's, sofas, big table and chairs and a great internet connection. If in the area again I would definitely stay here.
Rate is for 2 weeks with 10% AAA or Good Sam discount. Newer parking lot campground with no shade but there will be in time. Grounds are maintained well and there is a small walking path and pet area. Laundry is free with 2 washers and 3 dryers but not working properly. I had to get help from the office every time I used the washer. Pool and two jacuzzis are very nice. Bathrooms at the front and back of the park, showers only by the pool area in front. Unless you are a very small rig avoid spot #58. It is the shortest in the park and the hookups are difficult. Internet is the biggest problem here: no Verizon or Sprint connection. The park has free WiFi but kicks you off constantly, many were complaining in the office about this issue. Diesel shuttle to the casino comes around every 20 minutes from 7am to 2am and is very loud. They used to come 24 hours but people complained about the noise. Why not switch to a fuel efficient and non-noise polluting vehicle?! Casino is alcohol free and the smoke smell isn't too bad. There is a nice room for events and they offer free coffee and popcorn. The office help was most accommodating except for the man (with quite an attitude) who checked us in on a Wed afternoon. He put our 35'motorhome in the smallest spot in the park when the larger one next to us was empty, then occupied by a class B van a few days later. A nice woman moved us when we said we had to move or leave as we had to move so far back to the hookups our rig was being drenched by their sprinkler system. Sites are pretty level on a large cement pad with a nice picnic table.
Rate is for active and retired military. We love this campground! They have a very unique setup - 6 pods with 7 spaces each like spokes on a wheel with a lot of space in between. Paved, very level parking for your rig with grass all around. Picnic tables are on a cement slab. Hook-ups were easy and well-placed, but the TV antenna doesn't pull in any stations and there is no cable. It is very peaceful here, one wouldn't know they were on a base except for revile at 6:30 in the morning and the national anthem at 5pm and all those cute little young kids jogging by in formation. We have heard some target practice, but not enough to annoy us. Cows are grazing, rabbits are hoping & birds are chirping - the sound of freedom rings occasionally from the skies above. We only planned to stay 12 days and may change that to stay a month. You are pretty isolated out here but Sacramento is only an hour away and there are some other smaller cities close by.
Rate was based on the coupon of 4 nights for 3. We are 52, 60 and the age group of this park was older, as the previous reviewer stated, but we LOVED this park and everyone here was super friendly! The pools and hot tubs were wonderful as was the mineral steam room. We went on one of the 3+ weekly hikes and 3 older guys totally challenged us and we've climbed some 10,000ft mountains in Tahoe! They have a little grill room that isn't the best but nice to have since you are really in the middle of nowhere. It's a funky little park and yes, there are quite a few run-down trailers and park-models, but the people, facilities and activities more than made up for that. The weekly, monthly and LT rates make it a very reasonable place to stay, but not for a night or two. Exercise room, pool, shuffleboard, horseshoes, dances, exercise, hiking, computer room, store & much more
This is a review for the campground - there is free boon docking available right next door. Rate reflects an extra large lot. This is a very nice campground, although sparse. We were first put in one of the extra lg spots that backs up to a very busy road which kept us up all night. The park was pretty empty and it was easy to move the next morning. The bathrooms have recently been updated and are very nice. There are a few picnic tables scattered around but not one at every site. No grills available either, but the cable TV is excellent as is the Wi-Fi. The park is walking distance from the AVI casino and your rate includes use of their beautiful pool, spa and teeny tiny exercise room. They have some good dining deals at the casino. The towns of Camp Mohave and Bullhead City are just a few minutes away but roads are too narrow to bike on, unless you have a mountain bike and can go off road. The wind howled here for the first few days we were here but it's beautiful today. There is a golf course next door and the casino is on the CO River but not much else to do here.
Rate reflects monthly rate with no extra charge for utilities. They have since lowered their rates but now charge for utilities. We loved this park! Has beautiful pools and jacuzzi. Fabulous exercise room: like a really nice gym with locker room that includes sauna, steam, hot tub, nice showers, a scale! They have a little grill room with a bowling alley, pool table and darts. The employees are all wonderful and friendly. Great laundry room. We recently heard that this property is owned by the bank and noticed small changes before we left. (i.e. the gym went from being open 24 hours to being closed at night, grill room was open from 8-8 but then started closing between meals.) Hope they will be able to keep this place alive as we really liked it. It is about 7 miles outside of the town of Pahrump, a little Oasis and we will be back!
