Beautiful setting but unfortunately the city has grown up around the park. Very noisy with freeway very close by and metro train near as well. If you could take away the noise it would be a real winner. Still, it is a well patrolled park with security and camp host on site and we enjoyed our stay. Bathrooms were okay.
Nice park but has many permanent trailers and workers. Staff is nice and they have a good camp store, complete with wine! Lots of social activities and pool looks nice but we did not use it or attend the social activities. Located in agricultural area so it is not near anything but it is quiet.
Nice clean bathrooms. No laundry. This park has two areas. The top one is by the highway and seems more suited to bigger rigs. The river campground is the nicer of the two areas. You can ride to the little store for wifi and the setting is very nice. We would return again if through the area.
Campground was nice and bathrooms were clean. We gave this park a "7" because some of the facilities (swimming area, wifi at store) were on the other side of the channel. You have to go over a highway bridge to get to them so if you have little kids you have to drive. You can stay on the same side of the channel and walk to the ocean (10 minutes) and have superb beachcombing without crossing the highway. Very nice spot and I would return if through area again.
Very nice park. Nice bathrooms and laundry at bathroom bldg. Good biking around park and into Ormond Beach on sidewalks. Nice camp store called "The Outpost". Great couple who run that with little concerts that they perform in on Friday & Sat nights. Very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return again.
Very nice staff in office and wifi there as well. We liked this park although it was not really close to anything that we wanted to see. Still, we would return if through the area again. Nice bathrooms. Laundry machine was in outside, covered porch area of bathroom building and worked fine.
Nice state park. WIFI at ranger station. Bathrooms and laundry were very nice and clean and good proximity to Savannah. Loved the Spanish moss!! We would return if we travelled through this area again.
Rate reflects Passport America. Very nice park in a beautiful setting of rolling hills and a stream. Bathrooms are old but clean. We only stayed overnight but wished we could have stayed longer. Can recommend park and we would return if we came through the area again.
No ranger or camp host on site. Sites are nice, as state parks usually are. No WIFI. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner. Especially in the showers. They have the plastic mats in the stalls and I don't think they have been lifted up in a long time to be cleaned properly. Just an okay place to stay but we would not return.
Rate reflects AAA dsc. We LOVED this park. You cannot ask for a better proximity to DC. Staff were A+. From check-in we knew we had a winner here! They even run a "Tour Seminar" everyday at 4 pm (on season) to help explain all the tour options. We can whole-heatedly recommend this park and would definitely return. The only small downside and the reason I did not give it a "10" is because it is close to one of the freeways. You cannot see the freeway but you can hear it so be aware of that. Really, it does not pose any issue. The park was here long before the big freeway. The city grew up around it. You will NOT find a better run park, from the check-in to the pools to the café and laundry!!! LOVE IT!!
Great park. Nice staff at front desk and good sites. Bathrooms are extremely clean-thanks for that!! Would recommend it and would come back if we were through the area. About 10 minutes from Cape May ferry.
Rate reflects Passport America. Great park and a great area. We loved it here. A bit of an old park but nonetheless well maintained. Only little downside was the sulfur smell of the water in the bathrooms. Caused by an hurricane from a while ago. All the site waters are fine though as they are on city water. Just the bathroom bldg is on the old well. You can bike ride or walk to the ocean in 10 minutes. Loved it! Can definitely recommend it and we would definitely return, only for longer next time.
Rate reflects Passport America rate and that is the only good thing about this park. It suffered substantial damage during Hurricane Sandy in Oct 2012 and has never been totally repaired. Some of the grass is very nicely cut and manicured but other areas and sites are just broken with no look of repair coming. If you check their website it really shows the way it WAS, not how it is now. Too bad. Won't return ever and do not recommend it.
What a great park! Super convenient to the Opryland Hotel and Grand Ole Opry. Very efficient staff and great sites. Plus, huge props to everyone here for the exceptionally clean bathrooms. Would definitely recommend staying here. Our rate was reflective of a AAA membership and we do not use sewer hook-ups. Thanks everyone here!!
Nice little park. Clean bathrooms and laundry. Lots of long time, winter people but everyone is friendly. Not too close to anything so best to have your own car to get groceries etc. Right on the highway so a little noisy and I would be cautious if I had children with me as there was No fences or front gate. Just an overnighter for us but still okay. WiFi okay, but weak.
Super nice state park. Seems to have a nice beach and walking areas. Dive shop, gift store, aquarium, concession, and WiFi available at both dive and concession shops. Only stayed one night but would definitely return. Nice bathrooms and laundry, too!
Loved this park. The manatees were amazing. Loved the long boardwalk to the Suwanee River. Wi-Fi is available at the great concession right by the springs. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Great bathrooms but no laundry.
We find this KOA to be poorly run in terms of bathrooms and security. Not sure why there is a security hut and no gates and no one manning it. Bathrooms were only cleaned once per day when they needed tending at least 3-4 times per day. At times some of the toilets were plugged for a whole day as no one ever checked on them. It seems a money grab as there were so many tenters and only a few bathrooms. Not even bathrooms in the way back area for tenters. They brought every bit of mud into the showers and bathrooms with them. Terrible bathroom monitoring! Our price was based on an ad in a Florida camping magazine so we cannot say that is the price very often. The pool is very nice and they have a nice bar attached to it with a small restaurant. When we arrived one other camper told us.. "Oh, anything goes here. No one ever checks!" We had tenters beside our RV who had 3 tents, 2 trucks a dog, and 10 people in these tiny spots and they talked loudly and laughed until 1:30 am. Security is joke. Very disappointed in this KOA.
Really enjoyed our short stay. Hosts will shuttle you into New Orleans, which is about 15minutes away, super handy. Beautiful bathrooms, really clean. Nice pool and hot tub area. WiFi works well. Locking gates with access code at night. Very secure. Hosts are very helpful in arranging any tours, etc. Would definitely return.
Price reflects PA rate. Some restrictions. Loved the park and Virdy your host will make you feel right at home. Nice and clean everywhere. Bathrooms great and nice laundry. Pool looked great but was too early in the year to be opened, too bad! Lots of fishing in the stocked ponds. Lots to do in area too!! Really enjoyed our stay!! Would definitely return!!
Awesome state park. Small sites but were perfect for us in VW. Loved the trails. Internet was lightning fast as long as you are near the bathrooms, which we were. Free laundry...thanks LA!! Now, the down side was the condition of the bathrooms...pretty bad, use able but bad. We did speak to a park employee and he admitted that the girl who was responsible for them was lazy. She would sign off the cleaning sheet days ahead of time. Apparently the supervisor knows this but states that she is better nothing. Still I would return as park itself is really nice...just bring your flip flops into the shower!!
Great, brand-new campground. This is part of a 6 park group, Quality RV Resort group. So nice and once all the rain stops and the sun comes out, the plantings of the trees, shrubs and grass will look great. GORGEOUS amenities building with laundry, beautiful bathrooms & lounge area, computer room, free popcorn, coffee, etc. Still working on the grounds but a nice little lake and hear-tell there will be fire pit at the main building. Great staff. Secure gate entrance and exit. Would definitely go back again!!
Rate based on Passport America. Poorly maintained park. Bathrooms in bad shape. Could not use the ladies room after a gentleman had showered as it backed up in the ladies room through the floor (?). Would not go back and cannot recommend it.
Good overnight stopping spot. Very clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. Some permanent folks but all in all fine. Very close to the freeway, and there was a bad farming/cow smell in the night, but that is just indicative of the area. Helpful staff and nice looking pool.
Good proximity to Calistoga downtown, walking distance. Rate for our first night was Passport America $17.50, but the rate went up for weekend even though park was nearly empty. Might have stayed longer if they had given us a break on the price as it did not warrant $40 per night. Gravel lot but bathrooms okay. Can bike ride to town or a few nearby wineries. Some nice paths.
Great, great spot and wished we could have stayed longer! Beautiful bathrooms, and we were parked right by the bathroom bldg. We were In site 12, overlooking the water. Great Wi-Fi near the building! Road our bikes out to the 1,000 year old tree (1 mile) and saw the whooping cranes. Super cool area with all the windswept Southern Live Oak trees. A photographers dream! Stay here!
Great proximity to Carlsbad Caverns. Lots of oil rig workers stay here so men's shower could have been cleaner but overall good stay for 2 days for us. Little store in office sells basic food necessities which is handy. Pretty tidy spot.
Another nice NM park! Really enjoyed the walking trails and seeing all the little lakes on our easy, level walk...about 1 mile one way. Bathrooms and showers very clean and great staff but the highlight is the scenery around Lea Lake where the campground is. Just 12 miles back to Roswell for a quick alien visit!! We would recommend it!
Very nice park. New Mexico does a great job providing sites with permanent shelters. Our camping area had pit toilets that were like brand new. Flush toilets and showers were back at the main bldg by the Visitor center - a short bike ride away from our spot. Nice walking trails and super helpful staff. Dring our stay in winter. WiFi was available in the Visitor Center but only from 12 pm to 4 pm, . Electric and water at our site were great.
Not fancy, gravel lot but nice enough sites. Most have amazing views of town or the old mine site. Good bathrooms and laundry. Helpful staff. Just a 5 minute walk into town or the mine site for tours. Would definitely recommend it and we would stay again.
Interesting little old park. Owners are helpful but the place is a little long in the tooth. Bathroom and laundry were fine, not perfect, but fine. We did enjoy our stay because it is a 2 block walk right into the heart of the action that is Tombstone. Super cool little restaurant on site for a great breakfast. Pretty eclectic and quirky but we can recommend it and, if we went this way again, we would stay there again.
Beautiful state park. Gorgeous mountain views and lots of hiking trails. We were sorry to only have stayed 1 night, but we would definitely recommend it! A close bike ride to the shopping center for supplies.
Absolutely a jewel of a park. Gorgeous desert camping at it finest. Top notch facilities and over 40 miles of riding and hiking trails (some of which are competitive). Interpretive programs available and nice staff. Would definitely go again and highly recommend it!!
Rate reflects Passport America. Washrooms were in terrible shape. Many permanent residents whose trailers were not in the best of shape. Lots of long term folks. Our site was right by the bathroom building, and we had a gentleman drive right up into our site to get his laundry in the night. Would not return and cannot recommend it.
Great park and even better hosts! They made sure we felt settled and comfortable. Great pool, hot tub, laundry, bathrooms, and amenities room. Pick all the citrus fruits you desire! Happy hours at the fire pit!! We definitely would return. It felt like "home".
Wonderful find. All facilities we very clean, and everything presented on their website is exactly as listed. Bathrooms were nicer than some peoples home!! We were greeted by the owner himself, who was very personable and helpful. Unfortunately, the weather turned nasty, and we only stayed one night. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Rate is based on Passport America. Located this park due to proximity to Space Center Houston. Park has a few decent short term sites, but mostly permanent mobile homes and RVs, many in not great shape. It would be an OK overnight stop if you do not require use of the bathrooms and showers, as they are in despicable shape. During our visit only one toilet and one shower were in working order. When we woke up the first and only morning of our stay, the toilet was plugged, with no one available to fix it until 9:00am. As we travel in a VW van, working and reasonably decent bathrooms are very important.. We had unfortunately paid for four nights, and the manager did graciously refund the remainder of our fee, when advised that we just could not stay considering no guarantee of a working toilet. Also, although they advertise Tengo internet, we could not detect a signal at our site, and even standing just outside the office, the weak signal would not allow our connection. Cannot recommend staying here.
