Well maintained park, older amenities that have been carefully kept up. There is sun, shade, walking trails and meadows for dogs. Short walk to the beach. There are some long timers and a good mix of open sites for travelers like us. Everyone, especially owners, very friendly. Bonus is the Black Forest Kitchen where they make and sell a mix of German meats. Also, they do a German Dinner in the restaurant, rabbit and salmon on our night was yummy. The Siren Cafe in Port Orford has great homemade muffins that are perfect for an early start north on 101.
Two weeks of RVing and traveling 7 States, this is by far the best kept park and most friendly of them all. All size rigs can fit here in the widest sites we've ever seen. Although it is the beginning of May, the pool and hot tub were open and perfect temperature for 70 degree but sunny days. Being Seattilelites, we look forward to a swim and sunning whenever we can when traveling and I wish all RV parks would have a longer season than they do. Wi-Fi is good with TengoInternet, no complaints. The park is large and all around the outside circumference is a dog friendly path for walking. Checkout time is 1:00! What a bonus.
Beautiful views from this park, scenically you are in Capitol Reef National Park.and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Although the sites are gravel, the park staff cleans up daily, raking and leveling sites as people leave. Sites roomy and nice patch of green at each site. Large grassy playing field for children to expend energy. The store has every gift imaginable and also staples, which in our case was a highlight of finding some Hunts seasoned tomato sauce. We arrived the first week of warm weather so the pool was not open yet, in process of filling. Only drawback was that the website advertizes many amenities/activities (chuck wagon dinners and morning muffins to name some) that are only available in high season and should be listed that way. Would stay here again.
This is a beautiful oasis in the desert. Early in the morning and later in the evening there is some shade on many of the sites. The grounds of the resort are well maintained but the RV sites are a bit in need of care, leveling, and clean up of brush. Having a store, many restaurant choices (though $$$) is a treat and the pool is fantastic, especially with the high heat of the desert. Large open areas to walk the pooches, just have to watch out for critter droppings and stay off the horse trails. Staff was very hospitable and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Ambient light at night is minimal so star gazing is spectacular. Areas provides for campfires as well.
Easy access off 97 and level parking for all size rigs away from the casino in a quiet area of the parking lot. We have large dogs who were very happy to have an interesting walk in the field next door. Ate in the casino and our meals were excellent, steaks cooked as ordered and came on a bed of arugula, obvious that the chef takes his presentation seriously. All staff encountered were very hospitable, again, showing care given to training.
This always seems the perfect time to stop when we are traveling between WA and CA. Good price on diesel at the exit Safeway and a quiet park after a long days drive from Seattle. The park has a very clear Wi-fi signal, full cable channels, and clean restrooms. Added bonus for us is the large open trail adjacent to the park for exersizing our dogs (and us too!).
We were happy to find this clean in-town site for a quick overnight sleep and a large place to walk our dogs. We came in after the office closed so could not access Wi-Fi but we could have called ahead for the code. Next morning, office staff was very friendly and thanked us for choosing the fairgrounds. Bathrooms and showers were large, spacious, and very clean.
