Just returned home from a poor camping experience at Canyon RV. We have camped there many times previously and always thought that the part was in the 7-8 rating category, but not this time. This was a very hot weekend, well over 100 degrees both Friday and Saturday. Power on the pedestals sagged to below 105V so one could not use the AC in their rig. Add to that more than a couple total outages and you can see the electrical situation was terrible. Add to that water pressure that you could hold back with your thumb on the end of the hose and you are basically dry camping at $60/night. This park holds so much promise but suffers from folks that just don't want to help and facilities that leave a lot to be desired. We found the bathrooms to be dirty. Playground and pool were maintained. The park is family friendly and dog friendly but simply not customer friendly. I will vote against returning here next year.

The elevated noise level here is well known, so just deal with it or don't go here. For the first time in multiple visits over multiple years, the check-in went without a hitch. IF you arrive at prime arrival time, the line at the desk will be 10 deep!! A new twist (at least to us) was the armbands (to keep people in the park only to paying visitors). The bathroom near our campsite was clean but very, very messy. The park does not have walkways from the outlying rows to get to the restrooms, so you have discourteous campers walking through your dinner at the provided table to get there or to the overflowing trash bins. Speaking of which...they pick up at 7AM on Saturday (yuk), but not until 10:30 on Sunday when the trash is both in and out of the cans and spilling over everywhere. Now for the pluses: roomy sites although I did see a few where the trees encroached and would brush against the rig; nice store but you share the checkout lines with the registering campers; one mile walk to downtown Ventura, about .5 miles to the bike path that goes along the beach, Emma Woods State Park is immediately to the North of the park, also within walking distance. One word of caution...do not get the sites at the end of the rows towards the store...Friday night is Karaoke and Saturday night is a band...both loud and not necessarily pleasant to hear. On this weekend, the park did it's usual thing...packed as many people as possible into the park. The overflow camping at the Ventura end of the park was just that...overflowing. While I appreciate capitalism, this park does take it to a new level. All in all, the convenient location does mitigate the high cost and high noise levels, but they could do so much to improve the park (walkways/cable TV/better timing on trash collection/better bathroom maintenance). Our advice is to try it, and if the minuses are too great, don't go back. All in all, had a great time (went with a group) and will return albeit not as often as we could go due to some of the negatives in this review.

Nicely landscaped sites, plenty of room even with multiple slides. Call a number and a bus shows up in front of your campsite and takes you to the casino. Personally, I'd like to see better public transportation provided to the Casino as it's difficult to see or do anything in Temecula if you don't tow a TOAD. Many rules to follow, and not all equally enforced but all in all, a very nice RV Park. Didn't use the pool, but it was convenient and clean. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate. Summers here are hot, so we try to camp here from October through May. There is a Pow-Wow held nearby in late June/early July that you should investigate. Casino is well run, multiple restaurants, and a buffet that while not cheap will leave you wishing you hadn't eaten so much!!! Very much recommended with caveat about summer heat.
