This is one of our favorite campgrounds. This was our third visit to the park. This time we stayed at site 49. As usual the wildlife was plentiful and fun to watch. We enjoyed visiting the spring and spent time swimming. The bathroom/showers were clean. The park was patroled constantly by both law enforcement and the park rangers. While out looking for wildlife, one park ranger stopped us to give us information on other wildlife and where it could be found in the park. We will definitely return!

This was an really nice campground. This was our first camping experience in the panhandle. The campsite was clean and easy to get into, and we have a 36 ft. travel trailer. It is a typical state park campground which is woodsy and plenty of surrounding vegitation. Our site, 50, did not have any trees, but a lot of foliage which acted as a buffer from the other sites. We enjoyed the wildlife in the area. We would stay here again.

We just returned from our Labor Day camping trip. We have stayed here several times before. As usual we were very happy with the park. We saw several work campers cleaning the area all the time. I also noticed quite a few county workers throughout the CG. The check in staff was very accommodating and helpful as we wanted to stay a couple of days longer. My only negative remark on the park is some sites are VERY tight for larger TT/RV's. Our site, 222, took us about 20 minutes to get backed into, we have a 36 foot TT, and about 30 minutes to get it out. Although I will say after we got our trailer into the site, there was plenty of room. We will definitely stay here again!

This was our second trip to this campground. Again we spent a week here. The park is starting to show its age. While there, there was a power outage which lasted twelve hours. Two days later a water main broke which put us without water for two days. While fixing the water problem, a power line was cut, again no electric for almost another day. After speaking with the park manager, the City has set aside funds to upgrade everything in the park. Hopefully this will start sometime this year. The park staff was accommodating during all these problems. The management seemed to work hard to get the City of Jacksonville to fix the utilities. They even agreed to refund some of our money, even though this is a NO REFUND park. The campground hosts are constantly driving the area and were helpful during our entire stay. Law enforcement was present during much of our stay. They patrolled the main road, which is also used by hikers and bikers. I saw countless traffic stops during our stay. It was comforting to see their visibility. They also patrolled inside the campground. As for the facilities, in spite of their age, everything was clean and in working order. The beaches were well maintained. All staff we encountered were helpful and courteous. We will camp here again.

The check-in was very easy and the lady at the desk was very pleasant. Once at our site, we noticed all the cable vision cables had been cut. Our water pressure was the worst I had ever seen. The water just dripped out of the shower and spigots. No fires were allowed, even with the fire pit we had brought. There was plenty of room to pull in and park. The park was very quiet. It looks as though much of the park is used as storage. There was quite a few permanent residents. They were kept in another area. The park is part of a flea market, however, there is a wooded area that acts as a buffer between the two. We had used this park to explore St. Augustine, seven miles away. For that, it was perfect. We will definitely use the campground again for that reason.

We just returned from a five day/four night stay. This is a county, Gilchrist park. It appeared the main road leading into the park has recently been paved. Upon check in, the staff was friendly and offered information on upcoming events in the park. The park is very well maintained. Many of the sites are pull in. There was still plenty of room to unhook and move around. There are trees everywhere, but had we had no problem negotiating with our 36' travel trailer. The heated pool was a big hit with our kids. We are already making plans to return. Note, if you use GPS to get to the park, it will more than likely lead down a bumpy dirt road. There are some low hanging branches which can be navigated. It is best to stay on CR 232 until you get to the sign marking the park entrance.

We spent five days at this campground. We really enjoyed our stay. We pull a 36 foot travel trailer and had no problem in the campground. The hosts were really nice and friendly. We saw them throughout the campground constantly. The bath house was always clean. The showers had plenty of hot water. We did notice low water pressure at times, not at the bath house, but nothing that caused any problems. We enjoyed this campground so much, we are already making plans to return.

First off we have stayed at this park several times now. The location is great; next to the beach, great fishing from the jetty, and awesome view. We noticed the bathrooms had been remodeled since we were last here. They really did a good job. We also noticed the park needs a little more work done as far as grounds maintenance. We also noticed the State is now using prisoners working in the park. We were not to thrilled with that. Several sites appeared as though the mowing was sparse. We were very disappointed to see as of November they will no longer be accepting Passport America. That was a real disappointment for us, as I am sure it will be for others. As usual the staff was ok at check-in, but not overly friendly. Although the price will go up, due to no longer PPA CG, we will probably return. However, not as frequent as we have.

We stayed here for six days. We chose this park due to the proximity to Ichutucknee Springs SP where we were going tubing with friends. We were a little put off by the lady who checked us in. Just wasn't the typical state park employee we were used to. She was very argumentive. We were a little worried about getting into the CG area due to some information we recieved. We stayed in the Magnolia Loop which worked well for us. We were able to get our 36TT in without to much difficulty. There were several other sites that were also big rig accessible. I drove over to the Dogwood Loop and it appears very rough and would be difficult to get into with a lot of rigs. There were mostly popups and tents in that section. The bath house was clean, but used, every time we went there. We saw the rangers numerous times throughout the day. Park is well patroled. The park has wildlife everywhere. More deer in this park than anywhere else I have ever been. Although this is a nice park, there is really nothing around the area, besides the springs. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless we were doing something at the local springs.

Really nice park. The park has many activities for campers, as well as day-tripers. There are several beach areas and while we were here they were never crowded. There is a nice play area which has a playground, volleyball courts, kayak rentals and a kids waterpark, which is closed this season. There is a fresh water lake which is well stocked. There are miles of bike and hiking trails which appeared to be very popular. As for the campground, the roads are a bit narrow, but the sites are quite nice. Did take a little work to back our 36' TT in the site, but not impossible by any means. Many of the sites are pull-throughs. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and most all appeared fairly level. The camping area has a gate which only allows registered campers and guest entry. A small camp store is on site; just the basics though. The store also sells hamburgers, and such, along with ice cream. The campground hosts were always out working and driving the area. The bathrooms appeared clean. Management is visible and was seen driving the park on several occasions. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was seen numerous times patrolling the park which made you feel very safe. The park staff was very friendly. We can't wait to come back to this park!

What a nice campground. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Our site was not quite ready at check-in, the leaving campers were having equipment problems. The staff was quick to get us in to another site and very pleasant about it. The one down side to this park are the few sites next to US 1. If some type of noise barrier could be installed, this would eliminate this problem. The sites varied in size, our site, 121, was very large. All sites are in a wooded setting. Although the park seemed somewhat tight, we had no trouble moving our 36ft TT throughout and into our site. A large grassy area is next to the river and has a volley ball net. Several folks were just taking advantage of it and enjoying the sun. A nice fishing dock extends out onto the Indian River. If you want to see a shuttle launch, this has got to be the spot. We could easily see the launch pads and the vehicle assembly building. The park has late check-out, a real plus. They offered us two times, 3 PM and 6 PM. The cost is minimal. We didn't get an opportunity, on this trip, to use the pool, but it was conveniently located in the center of the park. It looked well maintained and was surrounded by a privacy fence. Next to pool was the community building and restrooms. We really look forward to coming back again.

We recently stayed here for the WinterJam 2010. This park is OK if you have other things to do in the area. There are a few permanent trailers and a lot of snow birds. Although the park was crowded during our stay, the sites were plenty large enough. Looked like most of all the sites were pull-through which was a plus. Each site appeared to have a picnic table. Fires are permitted, but you must buy their fire wood. The park would really benefit if they had a late check-out fee. We didn't use the restrooms, but others in our group did. They did not think they were all that clean. We would probably return here again.

We stayed here the week after Christmas and over New Years day weekend. What a nice park. The owner met us at the office and was very pleasant and considerate. After completing their paperwork, he gladly escorted us to our site and made sure we were settled and happy. The park is a full hook-up and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. We only used the laundry room, which was clean, but saw no other amenities. They have free Wi-Fi and fire wood. Looks like the way the park is arranged, most all of the sites are pull through. The park is easy to navigate and definitely big rig friendly. We chose this park specifically for the location close to Savannah (about 5-10 minutes away). We extended our stay and ended up remaining for eight days. The park is also PPA. We will most definitely return to this park.

What a nice park! We spent the weekend there with a group of friends. Due to each friend making their own reservations, the park surprised us by putting us all in the same area. We chose the park due to the proximity to Micanopy. We had wanted to explore that town for the weekend. At check-in, staff was friendly. Sites can accommodate large rigs. Most of the sites have ample space between them so you don't have that crowded feeling. The park was close to the Interstate, but no noise was heard. The kids really enjoyed the heated pool. Several members in our group, including us, stated we will definitely stay here again.

Very nice park. Most all of the sites were pull through and able to support large rigs. Check-in was pleasant, and the staff was very helpful. The circuit breaker for our site kept blowing when we first got there. We flagged down a maintenance man who quickly came over and replaced the breaker. There is a nice restaurant on the property and the prices were very reasonable. The park is just down the road from Silver Springs, which was the reason we stayed here. We would definitely stay here again.

Another great park. This is the third time going to this park and each time it is more and more enjoyable. Check-in could be improved by scheduling appropriate help. The lady was extremely busy and wasn't able to explain much about the park to everyone checking in. She had a nice disposition considering the busy check-in schedule. Many sites have concrete pads and full hook-up. We really like the section closest to the beach, which does not have sewer hook-up. The campground is located within walking distance to the beach and jetty. The kids really enjoyed eating our meals as the cruise ships passed by. We will definitely stay here again.

OK park. Like was mentioned in another post, there are two parts to this campground. We really liked the way the two had been separated. The permanent residents were in the very back and campers are up front. The campground was laid out nicely with easy access to all the sites. There is no separation between the sites. The park's location makes it convenient to the Tampa area. This would be a good park to stay in while visiting the Tampa area. However, not much to do at the park or immediate area. Would probably stay here again.

Nice park to visit. We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. One of the nice features is most of the sites are water sites. We were able to dock our boat at the site the entire time. Due to most of the sites being so large, you are able to park your rigs anyway on the property you wish. We parked parallel to the water and had some spectacular sunset views. The park seems to fill up during the weekends, but empties out during the week. A courtesy deputy lives on the property in the center of the park. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice park. We were pleasantly surprised to find our site had a sewer hookup. We looked around and found there were about nine sites with hookup. Reserve America had not listed this in the site information while booking our trip. The sites were all open with not much, if any, barrier separating the other sites. This park is a great stop over, visiting the attractions or a just a weekend getaway like we did. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We saw them on their roving patrols often. If you get a chance to stay there, make sure you park at that highest point at the parks entrance, at night. You can watch the fireworks shows from Disney. We are already planning to return next year. We would like to return when it is cool to enjoy the trails.

This was our second trip to this park. As before, the site was spacious, clean and close to the restrooms. The staff was friendly and courteous. There was an abundance of wildlife in the park which everyone enjoyed. The park had its fall festival going on the weekend we were there. There was plenty to see and do. This is one of our favorite parks and we will definitely return.
