Beautiful, quiet, clean and free. What could be better? Paved pads in the oak woods with picnic tables, fire pits and water taps spread throughout the park. New clean restroom building. There is a nice hiking trail up to a scenic viewpoint. A good place to unwind for a day or two during a drive down the Natchez Trace. Plenty of room for big rigs.
This a wonderful clean quiet campground, with widely spaced sites, picnic tables, fire pits and water available. Good selection of hiking trails and the information display at the museum is very well done. Don't miss the cemetery. One of my favorite campgrounds and it is free.
While this campground is convenient to the air force museum, I would not recommend it. It had very tight turns for a 36' motorhome. It was full of unoccupied junky old trailers and located right beside two freeways and the train tracks. Internet only in laundry room. Too expensive.
