It is very easy to describe this place: awesome! The family that built this from the ground up, showed a lot of love for the land and environment. The staff who maintain it are excellent. My son and I made our first trip here and with the exception of going out to the grocery store, we took in what the Cherokee National Forest had to offer along with the Hiwassee River. The campground is within a very short walk to the river, and talk about pristine. They are adding to the whole campground and facility and I can only wish them the best. We have added this to our favorite list. Excellent and very family oriented.

This was our 3rd trip to Raccoon Mountain. Plenty to do and see here. My son who is 6 and very active, had plenty to do. Between swimming, panning for gems, exploring the caves and the arcade area, it was great. The campground is very clean and the people, both staff and fellow campers are excellent. Everyone respects each other. We love this place as the prices are fair. A word of caution. If you visit anything like the Incline, Rock City or Ruby Falls they have become quick and dirty tourist traps. For the money they charge, you should get a little more. There is a place in Chattanooga called Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum: they are wonderful, their prices are great and they know how to put on a show.

This is absolutely one of the best places to go. My 6 year-old, dog and I came down and this was our third trip here. The campground is wonderful and so are the people that utilize it and the staff is excellent. The campground is clean, safe and fun. People with all different types of camping preferences and RV's are welcome as part of a huge family. I hope these folks will be around for a very long time. I am planning to visit again next year.

While planning a final summer trip with my 4 yr old son, I made the request for a reservation and gave the type of RV to them and they responded right away and were very snooty. 1st they told me I had some sort of half baked conversion and that they would not allow that. Then they told me it was to old. Then they wanted pictures for a further review. So here is my take. If they are trying to keep the riff raff out, define the riff raff. They do not seem family oriented. Since there are a couple of other family oriented parks at Destin, I think I will go with one of those. I have a very cool older rig that my son loves and I would not put him in anything unless I deem it is safe and 100 percent. I would not recommend going to this spot.

Hello, I have been to two major campgrounds and several smaller ones since I bought my RV last summer. The second spot I would like to recommend is Raccoon Mountain TN. This place is awesome, very scenic and quiet. Full amenities and you can explore the caves, do some panning with the kids, relax and enjoy yourself at your site or by the pool. The staff is very friendly and are willing to assist in any way possible, within reason. Chattanooga is a stone throw away and offers all the cool stuff for families like the TN Aquarium, The TN Valley RailRoad, and of course the river front. Five Stars in my opinion.

Hello, I have been to two major campgrounds and several smaller ones since I bought my RV last summer. The first spot I would like to recommend is Rivers End Campground on Tybee Island GA. This has everything you could need. The staff are very friendly and warm to families and people from all walks of life go there. I felt so comfortable that leaving things out at night (nothing of any great value) would still be there. The rates are great and if you do not have a towed vehicle with you, that is ok, as they have an old fashion trolley that comes by, on the hour, and swings through the entire island. Five Stars in my opinion.
