I totally agree with the previous well-written review. I would add that the interior roads and sites are paved and reasonably level, especially given that the park is in the mountains. It was serene and peaceful. Good restaurant at Indian Lodge inside the park. If you like to hike and commune with nature, this is the place. However, it will be getting hotter soon since it is high desert in west Texas. We plan to go back for another visit when we can. Things to do outside the park include McDonald Observatory, Marfa lights, Big Bend National Park, Guadalupe National Park (mainly hiking), Terlingua, etc. One of the best places that we have stayed.

It's hard to find anything to criticize about this park. Checkin was quick and easy and a staff member guided us to our site. Great service! All the staff were helpful and friendly. The sites are paved as are the park roads and they are level. Many sites have shade and the river is beautiful. Too many amenities to mention. Wi-Fi and cable TV are reliable but do cost extra. The grassy areas between sites are a bit sparse due to the drought. The park was quiet and peaceful yet close to some good restaurants, shops, and gas stations. We will definitely return.

A very well run, well maintained park with all large pull through sites. Owners were very nice and usually present on the premises. The park has gravel drives and pad sites that are level and fairly large, especially the 50 amp sites where each had a nice grass area and picnic table. Many extended stay visitors were here for the summer. I would give it a 10 if the drives and pad sites were black top or cement. We will definitely visit again.

I gave this COE park a middling rating but it has some excellent aspects as well as some not so good. We stayed in the Juniper Road camp area. It had level, concrete pads with very nice picnic tables also on concrete pads (superb). The hosts at the gate were hospitable and helpful. The downsides were that the park rangers did not enforce the park rules - people parked their vehicles partially on the one lane roads (very inconvenient) and dogs barked early in the morning as well as often during the day taking away from the experience. The camp areas had grass or gravel pad sites and even narrower roads. All back-in sites.

Spent two nights in site #50 (pull through site). Nice and clean. Very few campers this weekend. Good distance between most sites. Both 30 and 50 amp sites available. Sites are asphalt with concrete parking pads. Some are shady and some are open (near the water). Each site has an open sided shelter with picnic table, fire ring and raised BBQ grill but there is a "burn ban" in effect due to the drought. Typical COE park.

Nice staff and nice park on I-35W. The traffic noise from the interstate was somewhat annoying but we only stayed one night. Convenient location and good place to stop for an overnight. Easy off and on to the interstate.
