Neat little RV park about 15mins East of Marble Falls. The front part of the park is the original portion. But, they just opened Phase II and added more sites (not sure how many). The roads in the park are crushed granite and well maintained. Each site had a concrete pad for sitting, but the RV parking area was just dirt/crushed granite and not particularly level. Bathroom and shower were OK. Not resort quality, but WAY better than some of the places I've been. There was a neat fire pit and hang out area in front of the bathroom and shower building. We didn't get to use it, but I could see where it would be a great place to hang out and meet other folks staying in the park. The onsite Park manager was very nice. I think the only draw back to this RV park is that it was a bit far to Marble Falls, since we had to drive back a forth several times a day.
This is not a bad place to stay as long as you really need to be close to Moody Gardens or downtown Galveston. The slots were VERY narrow (once I had my slides open I had only a few inches to spare on each side). If someone had been next to me, it would have been a miserable camping experience. RV spots were grass/rock and not very level. There were quite a few old nasty RV's that looked to be permanent residents up near the front. I didn't use the bathrooms, but my guests did and they said they were OK, but quite old and need of a remodel. I had a water view slot, however the water was on the wrong side of the RV, so I had to pull my 5th wheel in truck first and drive my truck through the neighboring spot to get my truck unhooked. I would stay here again, only if I needed to be close to Moody Gardens. Otherwise, there are several other nicer RV parks with water views within 15 mins.
Great RV Park. Bathrooms were pretty clean (a small amount of mold in the showers, but I've stayed in high end hotels that were in the same shape). The entire place is very well kept. The only problem was even though I made my reservation 2 months in advance and advised them that I had a large 5th wheel rig, they put me in such a small pull through spot that the RV and the truck wouldn't fit. Luckily, the folks in the huge pull through next to us with their tiny trailer let me park my truck behind their RV. I will stay here again, but I will call a few days in advance and will demand a large enough spot for my 5th Wheel.
