Nice place to get away in the northwoods. Located on Big St. Germain Lake, this facility has a beach and marina, making it extra special. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Individual sites in the upper section are great, but those in the lower section (closer to the lake) aren't as nice or big. Bathroom facilities could be better. It would be nice if they built a second bath/shower area for those in the upper section.
We were disappointed in this place and left early (just behind someone else who was leaving early!). Plenty of planned activities for kids, but the place is over-run with seasonals who have taken over. Sites are OK, but the place is very noisy and over-crowded. Quiet time was supposed to start at 10, but the dance in the main lodge on Saturday (and teens returning from it) made that a joke. Lodge offers a cooked to order breakfast on weekends, which is nice. Note this place has a dirty swimming pond, not a nice clean pool. Access roads are quite narrow. Overnighters will feel out of place among the mostly regular residents.
In our opinion, this park is everything a good RV park should be. From speedy, information-filled check-in to helpful staff to well-kept, well-organized surroundings to incredibly easy access to all the sights in DC, this park has it all. Metro bus picks you up on site and whisks you to subway. On July 4th, when the city bus stopped running to return people to the park after the fireworks, Cherry Hill provided its own bus transportation from subway back to park--FREE! Sites could be wider and freeway noise can be a bit of a problem, but what do you expect from a place that is right in the middle of the action?
If you want safe, easy, & fast access into Manhattan, this is the place. If you're looking for clean, complete facilities, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, go elsewhere. It's sad because it wouldn't take much for them to upgrade. They are in an excellent location across from Lady Liberty in an area that is obviously becoming upscale, but the "park" itself has the look of low-rent. And the onsite bar has got to go (weekend partiers are obnoxious until 3 a.m.). Or at least they could consider making the place into a nice restaurant that is open during the day for campers and marina boaters.
