I have stayed here before and we were not too pleased. We returned this year and the park is under new management who have done some wonderful updates and are busy with many more. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful. What we love about this park is the close proximity to the I-75 (no interstate traffic noise) which enables you to be able to access everywhere in Tampa Bay so easily.(including Busch Gardens, Moffitt Cancer Center and the VA Hospital). There is a Winn Dixie supermarket right next door and the Big Top Flea Market is across the street. This park also has great huge Oak trees which are a blessing under the hot Florida sun. We did notice that there are only a couple of pull through sites and because of that plus the fact that most sites do not have cable TV, is the reason why I did not give Happy Traveler a higher rating.
We were pleasantly surprised at this Passport America park. A gem for the price, especially if you like fishing. They have a free fishing lake. We had a lake front site which was lovely, with ducks visiting us each day for their treats. Also our site #14 was very wide with a lawn. A very important feature to us is the free WiFi, and there's works well and fast from the site! there is also a small seafood restaurant on site, which opens every evening at 5:30 pm, which we didn't visit, but our neighbors told us that the food was good.
I have no idea why this park has not received good ratings. The new owners are great, very friendly and helpful. The park is big and spacious with gorgeous oak trees. Our site is amazing, ask for G8, it's a large pull through with a big lawned site yard, no neighbors and is very quiet. The sites are compacted sand and grass, yes we prefer paved but and it hasn't stopped raining so this is a good test, we have no mud, the water just soaks right away. The position of this park is excellent for visits into Downtown Savannah and close to hundreds of stores and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
What an awesome little RV park. It is broken up into 2 sections, joined together by a "Moose Trail" walking path. The office is in the main section, we were in the smaller section. The park faces a large marshy area, with the sea in the background. Every day the moose visited us in the park and every evening one could watch them eating down in the marsh. We also counted 60 bald eagles on one day. The camp managers are super friendly and helpful. We would have given this park a 10 if it had TV and Wifi. We would go up the the library which is only 1 mile away, to use their free WiFi hot spot. This is a super park if you are a Halibut or Salmon fisherman, you can launch your boat into the sea about 300 yards down the road.
Excellent park. A lot of the sites have beautiful lawns alongside, with picnic tables and firepits. Very friendly workcampers run the park in the summer months. This park is 5 miles off the Interstate, so it's wonderfully quiet. I would have given it a 10 except that they do not have cable TV. If you have a site close to the office like we did, the signal is very strong. Many people spend the entire summer here, as it's only 15 miles from Yellowstone National Park.
This is a wonderful clean park with all the amenities one could want. We especially liked the huge, well organised laundry, the well stocked library and the super large indoor heated pool and jacuzzi. The sites are all concrete pad and very clean, the only reason I didn't give this park a 10 was because the sites are a little too close together for our liking and the WiFi advertised is not free. I paid $4.95 for 24 hours. You will love this park, it is also in a great part of town, in a residential area.
This is a super State Park. It has been rebuilt since the hurricane, with a new boardwalk and an almost completed bathhouse. There were no FEMA trailers! Our site was close to the river, easy in and out. We caught bass in the river. I would highly recommend this park.
What can I say. Yes I usually like to have my own picnic table, concrete slab etc etc - but there is no other RV park that we've been to that comes close to Betty's for friendliness and hospitality. This little park is a wonderful diversion. The owner is tons of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed her happy hour every afternoon. She organized so many different dinners, BBQ's, parties, karaoke's etc. She took us to many of the local restaurants for outstanding seafood dinners. Abbeville and surrounding areas have so much to see and do. Put Betty's on your travel list, you won't be sorry.
A very clean, pretty and well maintained park on the Suwannee River, with friendly management and work campers. The sites are large and have picnic tables and fire pits. Only their firewood may be used in the firepits at $5 per bundle. We found 2 downsides to this campground. Firstly we couldn't get cell phone or internet access and also sitting outside in the evenings we were almost carried away by "no-see-ums". The fishing is very good and they rent boats. They have a great club house, it seems a real pity that they don't have winter activities. The campground is 9 miles out of Old Town, of which the last 2 miles are on a dirt road.
We have stayed here a couple of times and love the river sites. They are open, have small concrete pads, fire pits and back onto the river each with it's own dock. The staff have been really friendly when we were there and very efficient. We purchased a bundle of firewood and within 10 minutes it was delivered to our site. The only downside is that Wi-Fi is not free. The entire park is well maintained and even though the roads are narrow we could easily negotiate them with our 40 foot rig. I do know that some of the back sites under the big trees could be more of a challenge to get in and out of. We loved the ice cream stand.
This is a fabulous park. Huge sites, and most of them are very secluded in wooded areas. They have trash pick up at your site, which is very handy. The only problem was that the Wi-Fi didn't work at our site and we were relatively close to the clubhouse and office. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for a couple of months. This park is very accessible to shopping, restaurants and the I -75. Our campsite was a little tight with our neighbor being very close on our patio side, it was also in 100% shade. I would say that the only downside about this campground is that they don't have very many large campsites in the open, most of their campsites are in the shade. The management, workers and other campers were extremely friendly and helpful. They have a good swimming pool and planned activities during the season. We would definitely stay there again.
We stayed here for a week over the Thanksgiving weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are a few sites up front that are very close to the water, they face the lake. They have a boat marina and boats for rent, apparently the bass and panfish fishing is pretty good here, unfortunately the weather was too cold for us to go out on a boat. We had a very nice large site, and most sites including ours had large shade trees. The management, workers and campers were all extremely friendly, and they had many activities organized for the season. There is a store with many essential items, fishing tackle, and live bait available as well as a good laundry, swimming pool and clubhouse. One small problem is that the well water was inconsistently colored. Sometimes it was totally clear and other times a slight brackish color. There were families with children parked all around us and they seemed to have a great time too. I would highly recommend this park.
