This is a beautifully situated park, with lots of potential. RV park part of the property is less well staffed and cared for than the lodges and zip line tours. Sites are quiet, well situated and shaded in the full hookups part of the park, not very level, but nice and wide. Check in is a confusing process - you have to call from the gate for help, then get less than complete instructions, but from a nice, friendly guy. Trash is distant from camp sites, and no recycling at all. We are not big on zip lines, but our friends went and were impressed. The park could be very nice with a little attention to procedures and conveniences.
Keep going, you'll get there and it will be worth it - long road in looks very residential. Wonderful people, took us directly to our site, and recommended an RV service which came to our site and fixed our problem for a VERY nominal amount. Great end to an awful first day with our first "Mini" motor home. We will stay here again.
Love returning here. Turn onto Mack Smith Road from Ringold Road looks tight, but we made it easily in a 40' and tow. Mack Smith Road widens out about four blocks from turn and the park is well signed. Great people, camp store, sites, pool, shade, and location. Very close to Camping World and Baskin Robbins: what more did you want?
Quiet and friendly. Shade trees. Access to pull-throughs for transient spots is awkward, but spots fairly level. Many permanent residents whose sites were clean and tidy. Management very friendly and helpful. Generally the facilities suffer from wear and tear. Mini golf gone, washers rusty, pool in need of maintenance on the tiles and grout. This park no longer affiliated with Best Holiday parks, and it shows. Would stay here again, though, as an over night stop.
Excellent camping experience for grandparents with 8 and 11 year olds in tow. Courteous and helpful staff. Bike trails, wave bobbing, beachcombing at loooong beach with lifeguards, campfires and walks made the lack of TV a total non issue. The week went by too quickly for this great park in the trees. Felt like a wilderness park, but with all conveniences very close. A little tight on the loops, but we had a huge spot. Sandy soil, bring two welcome mats!
We chose this park for an overnight stay based on reviews on this website. We agree, it is a great park. The helpful owners escorted us to site, and were very friendly in every interaction. There is a very nice view, quiet and a good store. We wished we might have been able to stay longer. I would call in the morning for a reservation, they filled up quite early.
This is an excellent RV park! We enjoyed the peace and quiet, walks through wildflowers, nicest owners who work non stop and it shows. No cable, but they were very helpful in giving us a site that accessed the Direct TV satellite, and it did! The laundry was clean, reasonable, and had hanging facilities. There are nice, thoughtful touches throughout the park, we would stay here any time we were in the area.
All the facilities are clean. There are nice, spacious level cement sites with good grass and small trees. There is good direct TV reception. We did not use cable as we could not bring in many channels on the hookup which may have been our problem. I would have rated this much higher but for the condescending attitude and the hemming and hawing over finding us a spot. We had a reservation well in advance, and many spots were available. The manager talked with friends while ignoring us at the desk. The questionnaire asked us for our last address and two references, plus had a space for filling out our criminal record. WOW !!!
Just leaving after a wonderful three months here. The rates for weekly and monthly are very fair, we paid $375 per month with no electric add-ons. Sites are huge, room for four slide outs without coming near your patio which is about 10 x 40 on our site. Sites are terraced as well, perfect satellite reception. Several ponds and just minutes to Guntersville Lake, boat launch about 4 minutes down the road. Convenient to Huntsville as well, we found everything we needed close by, but enjoyed the quiet park. Lots here are owned entirely by people who put their lot in a rental pool. There are many spaces available. Some owners are building very tasteful and spacious port homes here. We would consider buying if we were ready to settle down. We will be back again. Loved it!
Convenient to Statesville, right off freeway so a little noisy, but tolerable. Clean convenient laundry and store, helpful staff. Sites gravel with grass strip, not very level, and could use some maintenance on pull trhoughs, but certainly adequate. GREAT park for dogs, large doggy walk areas with trash cans and bags. WiFi worked well for us out at end of park far from office. Thought price was quite high priced for what it was.
This has been a great park for us - came for two nights and are still here a week later because of business. We are not river front, but the view from second row is nice, sitting between soy bean and corn fields, with hills all around. NICE spot. Nicest on week nights, weekend was louder and dustier as many fifth wheels and trailers sit on sites all summer riverfront and are used as weekend homes for Cincinnati residents. Don't blame them, but dust is awful on weekends, dogs and kids abound, but they are having fun, so we can't really complain. Staff treated us well, but with minimal contact. We would return if in the area.
Convenient to Tampa attractions, airport, shopping and restaurants, quiet and nicely treed. Nice pool and clubhouse. Excessive biting insects made enjoying outside difficult. No site trash collection, and dumpsters far removed from camp sites. Management cordial to adults but suspicious and negative about children. Questioned us about the whereabouts of our grandchildren when they were not visible (they were at Busch Gardens for the day). We understand that this is primarily an adult park and that children may not leave the camp site to ride bikes or play without the immediate presence of their adult supervision. This is strictly enforced. If there were a better choice in the area we needed we would use it while traveling with children or during insect season.
"Transients" are parked in front row directly facing the highway. This is a bit noisy, with no buffer for lack of trees, shrubs. The shady spots are in back, and many are seasonals or permanent. Office personnel was very nice, but forgot to give WiFi access code or offer the option to purchase it. Office was not open in the am as posted. Good laundry room, fairly level site with concrete patio. OK for an overnight stay.
Most hospitable place we've been on this trip from the northwest to the southeast. Treed, rural setting with lots of open space. Animals and birds abound which we enjoyed but some might find annoying for the occasional burro bray or parrot call. Strange pull through rows set up like you are parallel parked down a one lane road, but they manage it very well. All hookups were in perfect working order and the WiFi was a strong consistent signal. We would have liked to stay longer, and will camp here again.
First stay here - and one of the best kept and run parks we have used. Big, level gravel spots with nice shade and room to roam around in a very rural setting. Quiet and clean and friendly. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. All hookups were in good repair and placed well. Picnic table each spot clean and painted. A great choice if you are traveling 74.
Nice, clean park, we had a fairly level site right near the office, so had decent WiFi. Great park like spot with large trees. Had not remembered this being quite so expensive at $36.29 it is one of the most expensive nights we have spent for the same services. Still, it is convenient and surprisingly quiet for its proximity to the Interstate. We would stay here again in transit.
An excellent spot. We stay here every trip so far, and look forward to it. Very friendly, well run, clean, shady and relaxing. Nice large gravel or grass sites with big trees. This stay is ending up three nights because of engine wiring problems. We have gotten very good service on that as well from Mid America Diesel right in North Platte. Whiskey Creek steak house not up to quality of last two visits this time. We think the word is out on this park for east/west travelers, it was full early.
To be charitable, this part of Wyoming would be very hard to keep clean and green. This is an all gravel, dusty, windswept flat spot with no trees, and tightly packed spaces, parking lot style. Very expensive for the favor of getting off the road for a night's rest, and packed full because you have to stop somewhere when crossing the state on I80. The pet "exercise areas" are superb, with green grass, large fenced areas, and clean up tools. We were treated courteously but curtly.
Was charged 26.55 with good sam discount, but Utah tax is stiff (3.05). Excellent park and would stay here again. Clean, pleasant quiet area, nice trees, good WiFi and great RV supply store. The owners are new this year, and make a really great effort to help in any way. Their enthusiasm and genuine interest in the park and their guests is refreshing. Grass pads and cement pads. We had grass, no trouble leveling. VERY convenient to Wal-mart, and even better, an easy fuel stop and a great bread bakery are within a half a block. Would rate a 10 for us if cost was just slightly lower, but would choose this park every time.
New park in Salem, hidden away but worth finding. Well planned park with spotless facilities. When the trees grow up this will be close to perfect. Pool large and restroom/showers are the best we have seen. Train whistles at night but we got used to them (staying two weeks). Park is convenient to plenty of things to do. We will stay again.
The setting and the site were excellent. Quiet, our site right on Wallapa Bay and a campfire ring on a rise overlooking a superb view of the water. Older facility, but kept very clean. A quaint town. Park in walking distance to nice seafood store, historic hotel and fledgling golf course. Would stay again.
Beautiful and spacious, many mature trees, and view of Columbia River even from non waterfront sites. Quiet except for occasional train. Swimming beach at adjacent regional park and marina has dirt beach. Great Mexican restaurant a few blocks east at motel, camp staff has directions. Wonderful place for kids and bikes as well, but surprisingly peaceful. Staying here every time we can.
