We camped here the last time before the hurricanes. It is a beautiful campground, if you like nature. It is not fancy, but has all the necessities. The only problem is, the campground is still not open for RVs. It is only open for hikers and boaters. I have been in touch with the NPS for a couple of years, and it looks like it may never open to RV's. So sad that the NPS would spend money alloted to rebuild this campground on "other" things. Feel free to visit the NPS website to learn more.
This is a beautiful park. But advertises sites water views. This is true unless your neighbor choses to park their 3rd vehicle in front of their camper. We complained to manager, but nothing was done. Also asked to stay one hour longer than check-out time, and were very rudely told no way. Friends camped next to us, told us the sight was empty all day and night. Would not stay there again because of management.
Very nice campground to stay and the see the area. The sights are small. But we usually were out seeing the area, so that was not a problem for us. The restrooms were immaculate and the owners were very friendly. Free firewood was always available. Highly recommend this campground.
We stay at this campground everytime we are in that area. It is pricey, but the ocean views, to us, are worth the extra money. Waking up to the sound of the ocean is wonderful. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The store is well stocked, and the campground is very clean. The restrooms are very clean and so is the laundry. I highly recommend this campground.
This campground is very scenic, yes, but the management is the reason we will not return. We had a family emergency while camping there(had a weeks reservation), and had to leave for two nights. The manager that wears the cowboy hat did everything to make what was already a very upsetting situation worse. He is the rudest person I have come upon in 30 years of camping. The beauty of the campground does not make up for his attitude. I would not recommend this campground to my worse enemy.
We camped here last in 2006. I agree with the other review about the manager in the cowboy hat. We had been camping there since 2002. In 2005 we also had a family emergency, and asked to leave our daughters car there for 2 days, and the manager in the hat, said after I explained the situation "this isn't a parking lot". and laughed at me. We drove our daughter's car back into Seattle and drove to Pullman, WA to the veterinary hospital with our daughter's dog: where he sadly died. The next year we stayed there again hoping the manager didn't work there anymore. We asked not to be put in site #42 because of the size of the site, and where did "he" put us??? site #42. We talked to the owner and told him about our problem the year before, and he could have cared less. I just had to write this, when I saw that the manager still works there. I would avoid this park . The owner has no compassion if he still employees this person. As long as he is making money that is all he cares about.
