We have stayed here in the past but the property has gone down hill. Sites are full of weeds. Restrooms, while clean, need some work. Some staff was great, others were extremely rude. In addition, the RV park office is at a mini mart gas station. When we checked in there was only one person trying to juggle all three. Felt sorry for her. Sites are long and most are fairly level.
We almost passed this RV park by based on previous ratings about sites, however, they have done a lot of work to bring them up to standard recently. Sites were level, wide and long enough so we did not need to unhook. We had no problem at all leveling. Staff is very friendly and there are two dog parks and a nice little store. Great place to stop if you are traveling on hwy 50 or 93 or 6.
Wow! What a find! Far enough off the freeway you don't hear traffic but easy to get to. The grounds and views were spectacular. I have never seen bathrooms this clean or in such great condition as these. Sites are large, level with lots of grass and large trees. A great dog park with grass and trees. Don't think there is a bad site here. The owner is personally on site and is very friendly. We are planning to make this a destination in the future not just a stop for the night.
The sites in this park are very hard to level in and are only about 15 feet wide gravel since you share a common area with another site (picnic table too). We had to position our slide between utilities to fit and had to unhook. The clubhouse is down the hill from the RV park but is new and has a nice laundry facility. Staff seems friendly, but did not know how wide the sites were when we called. Although the park during one of the nights we were there was virtually empty, they put everyone on top of each other. Sites are all gravel with lots of weeds and foxtails so watch your pets. We won't go back unless it is the last resort.
Don't check in or stop to see if they have a site before 11 am! We were strongly reprimanded by the host at 10 am for arriving before 11. Never had that happen before! Not to mention, it is one of the most expensive sites we stayed in on our recent trip. If we didn't need a place to stay in Beaty, we would have been down the road. (The other rv parks look pretty bad) Anyway, the site was gravel, but short. We have a 26 foot trailer and had to park the truck beside it instead of in front to fit the space. The showers were new, but there was no private dressing area for the showers except in the shower.
We stopped at this RV site on the way north. To our surprise, it was very nice. Wide sites and most had a cement pad (pull throughs). It appears they have been doing a lot of work on it and have planted a number of trees. Still small but does provide some shade. Bathrooms/showers were spotless and new. Friendly manager. We'll be back.
Wow! This was a great find. It is one of the most beautiful RV parks we have stayed in. Sites have cement pads and lots of grass and shade. There is a wonderful path around the lake. Staff was great. It was really clean and there was fishing and small boats free of charge on the lake. It also had a very nice pool. A number of folks there had been returning for years. They make their reservation a year in advance. You can't go wrong with this park!
This park has grass sites and is on the Colorado River. We had a back-in site right on the river. The park is well kept, people are friendly. They have an awesome dog park-- in addition to a fenced in, grass, shaded off-leash area, there is a whole island devoted to walking pets (on leash). They only draw-back to the park is its proximity to US 10 and a overhead gas line that crosses the river at the RV park. However, the park itself were so nice, it was really not an issue. We plan to come back next year and spend a week. It has a beach on the river, a boat ramp, and a lagoon where personal watercraft came in to fuel as well as propane filling station.
From the description of this KOA, it appears there is a pool at this RV park and it is located on the Colorado River. Where it is really located is about 2 city blocks from the river behind the large parking lots to a casino. The sites are dirt, no landscaping in most, and rv's are jammed in door's facing-- NO PRIVACY AT ALL! Don't plan on spending time outside or bbq'ing, not really the place for it. Our site was approximately 50 feet from a busy road, but I guess if you are a "car watcher" this is the place for you! The restrooms were clean, however the staff is extremely rude and not helpful. The older short hair lady at check-in could use an attitude adjustment. Also could not get help from one of the staff in the shower room when there was no hot water. The response I got when I asked if there was a problem with the hot water was "How would I know, I just got here" and she wasn't about to find out.
This is the best KOA we have ever stayed in. The staff was helpful and friendly, the park was immaculate! Pull through sites are large and wide most have shade and the vegetation forms privacy between sites. It has a large fenced dog run and a large open area for walks in the desert. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The pool unfortunately was not operational while we were there, but we will definitely make this a stop on any future travels. It is also within 3 miles of Calico Ghost town. A great find! You can hear the freeway noise.
Woodalls should be ashamed for rating this RV park high! This is NOT a 5 star resort. The ads for this RV park are VERY deceiving. The "RV" portion of the park is actually in a storage unit-- sites are in a cinder strip between a 10' security fence and storage facility. The pool, though it does exist is actually in a a full time mobile home park not the rv park. The lagoon featured in the ad, is only accessible through the full-time mobile homes-- NOT the description in the add or in Woodalls. We only stayed here because we were tired. I would not stay here again! The sites that do exist as stated above are cinder--no landscaping and the view (besides the neighbors sewer hook-up) were of the fence and the storage unit. There are no public restrooms or showers available to the rv park -- don't expect to use those. (these may be available in the full-time moblie home park) We had to request a picnic table and use blocks to level. All in all, NOT a place we will go back to.
