Typical small KOA. This is the only real option when staying in Alamosa. OK stopover spot. Because it's in the desert, the campground roads are gravel and dusty. Facilities were clean. No landscaping to speak of. Will stay here again if we need to stay in Alamosa. The staff was good and they have a pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Swimming pool in the middle of no place. Eight miles from Alamosa.
Nice park under new management. Sites are easy to access and roads are well laid out. The bathrooms and laundry are clean. The office staff is friendly and helpful, and there are many seasonal residents, who welcome everyone, and all are welcome to the Saturday night campfire. The Wi-Fi did not work. It was by the river for fishing access. I would stay again.
Stayed one night to a dusty, Cottonwood infested place. Camp staff mowed right next to us, gravel and dust all over the place. Very open, would be OK when the cottonwood trees are not losing there cotton.
This campground is like being in a sardine can, everyone is crammed together and there is a lot of dust. Very hard to back in to. 50 amps? Another $3.00 per day. Cable, another $1.50 per night. Big rig site? Very limited and in back row. Wi-Fi service? Only if you are lucky. Grass on sites? Only if you plant it and water it. Lake on facility is good for kids. I want peace and quiet. Would not stay here again. The office help were two crabby old ladies.
Though you can purchase a site the General Public sites are gravel with weeds for grass puncture vines (Goat Heads) all over the place, no shade, no night time lighting. Showers are old and have signs for both men and women no privacy. They are designed for small people. Was close to Arches National Park but I would not Recommend or stay here again.
If you want a nice, quiet campground this is it. Free Breakfast of eggs cooked to your desire and pancakes every morning. Host was excellent, very friendly and accomdating. Showers are seperate closed stalls. A nice location for an out of the way place. Missed the TV but for a couple of days it is OK. Can understand why it has not been installed $$$$. Got to see the 100 Anniversary of Arco the first town to be powered by Atomic power.
