Was intending on staying one night but decided to stay an extra night. This is one of the best KOA Campground or private campground we have stayed in. Would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
We stayed here for a week, it is not as bad as some of the comments make it look. Yes the streets are dirt and the sites are dirt. But, you have to realize that dirt is all there is here, you're in the panhandle of Florida. The staff were helpful and the park was clean. The bathrooms were old but clean and the laundry was excellent. Don't believe that you are going to find any parks on I-10 that are any better.
This is a nice campground with easy access to the sites. We were in a 38' 5th wheel and had no trouble getting onto the site. The road to the campground is narrow but not difficult to navigate. The staff are great, they have a restaurant at the campground which serves breakfast and supper and the prices are good. On the weekends they have an outside theater and have movies for the kids. Nice park, would stay here again.
This park was a surprise, not at all what I had expected. The sites are large and remote. The sites for larger RV's are isolated so you feel that you are alone in the park. Our site was were along the edge of the ocean but not on the ocean. You have to take a walkway to get over the dunes to get to the beach. This is a very different kind of park, one that is worth seeing at least once. Very nice.
The route to the park was clear and well marked. The park was clean and the access to the site was good. We did not have a site with a sewer hookup, they were all taken when we were there, but getting to the dump station when we left was easy. I would stay at this park again.
This is one of the best state park campgrounds in Michigan. We liked the large sites and the lake access. There are lots of trails, some that go as far as Harrisville so there is a lot to see either walking or riding you bike. We have 3 dogs and were able to walk them anywhere in the park without problems, which was nice. One must realize that in most Michigan state parks there is no water or sewer hookup, but, outside of that the park is great.
Very nice park. There are small sites for tents and larger sites for large motor homes and 5th wheels. The river sites are smaller but can accommodate the larger units. The staff were helpful, pleasant and available when needed. Will come back again.
