Stayed here Memorial Weekend, lots of families, the park was full. Sites are mostly grass with gravel roads, and some sites can be difficult to get into. Several restroom/shower facilities spread throughout the park which was very convenient. Lots of kid activities and good restaurant for burgers, breakfast, etc. Could have used better rule enforcement, kids dropped their bikes right in front of the office door and all over the parking lot, did not use the bike rack hardly at all. Golf carts were everywhere and did not observe the speed limit.
We were going to stay here but after arriving and seeing the park we went into town and stayed at Wal-Mart. Looks like a camp for construction workers, lots of cars/trucks parked everywhere. Also looked like they had been there a long time. The office was closed so we drove thru to look at the sites and with the other vehicles there we wouldn't have been able to get out of the site if we had found one that was long enough for us.
Nice quiet park in a rural setting that is ideal for touring the Winterset/Des Moines area. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a store that has all the necessary items. They added 10 sites recently for big rigs. We would definitely stay again when in the area.
Easy access off/on I-10. Office staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Some of the roads are narrow and the site we were in had a tree that needed trimming, as well as several others throughout the park. We scratched our MH getting into the site. The bathrooms are old and really need updating, the toilet in one stall was not bolted to the floor very well.
Nice campground on Lake Buchanan, great area, awesome views. The cabin we had was very clean, well-stocked with glassware, dinnerware, cooking utensils, linens, and towels. All we needed to bring was clothes and food. Office staff was courteous and bathrooms/showers were clean. Park could be manicured just a bit as to weeds, gravel in sites, lights out at sites, etc. We didn't have our MH, but it looked like some sites needed work so they would be level. WIFI was available (free) but was slow. Overall nice place and we would definitely stay again when in the area.
Very nice clean park with a friendly staff. Small selection of RV supplies on premises. Access the park by taking the truck bypass then you don't have to drive all the way through town. Would definitely stay again.
Okay for an overnight stop with easy access from I-40. Denny's Restaurant nearby as well as gas stations. Water hydrant leaked and cable didn't have good reception and only a few channels available. Would probably stop again.
Nice, well-kept 5-star resort. Paved interior roads with cement pads on gravel sites. Small tree at all sites and several orange/grapefruit trees around the park. Host guides you to your site and helps with parking. About 3 miles off I-10 with easy access. Nearest town is Casa Grande which is 8 miles. Great wintertime activities for snowbirds.
Easy access from Hwy. 79 and fairly close to major attractions. No shade, so it can get hot and the wind blew everyday. Laundry adequate but some washers/dryers always out of order. No gameroom available when we were there and the campstore was not fully stocked as it was early in the season. Good overnight stop due to Passport America discount.
