This place is depressing. We only stayed here because it was close to the airport. Sites are asphalt and have lots of holes from jacks. Pricey for what it is. No view of anything and you have to walk your dogs out the back of the park on a trail in order to not intrude on people's campsites (though that's not a rule). Laundry was clean but pricey. We would not stay here again since a new park opened in North Salt Lake only 6 miles north.
Our site was so unlevel, it took us over 10 minutes doing blocks etc and we were still sloped. The park needs lots of TLC. Apparently the owner is having problems with the county or city and permits. So there is just a sense of "on hold" in terms of remodeling. The laundry was half broken, the ATM was broken, and only some sites were gravel. Ours was uncut grass and dirt mounds from ground squirrels. The internet was OK, not great, which we needed to plan more dry camping. The plus side of this campground is location, the wild horses in the neighboring pasture, and the view. They do have gas if you can't make it to Jackson (at a 30 cent premium). We would not camp here again unless we had to, but the horses made it worthwhile.
Lush grass all around made for a wonderful stay with pets. The trees are young as the park is only 4 years old, so little shade. There is a small bit of freeway noise (which are the only two reasons I didn't give it a 5 star). Direct access to biking/jogging path and the playground is away from the sites near the front (a plus for us!) There are some long-term campers, but they keep them on the outer edge. People were very accommodating. We will always stay here from now on. Close to airport, too!
We just left and I can't wait to go back! This campground is remote with no cell phone service, so bring calling cards for the pay phones. Beach is amazing with off-leash areas to the right and left of the main beach area. You must fill up your water tank upon entry and dump black tank upon exit. The park is easily accessible for a 40' rig. Oceanfront sites do not have electricity and are best for tents and small campers. However, we had slot 88 with electric and the most amazing ocean view. There is also a restaurant with "to die for" hamburgers and a store with anything you forgot. I rated this a nine because of the location, views and friendliness of staff.
