We really enjoyed this campground and the town of Shipshewana. We initially stayed here to visit the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart. But to our surprise this town had so much to do. The Amish Flea Market each week was fantastic. Only got halfway thru it. Lots of shops and loved seeing the Amish buggies all day. Everyone at RV park was wonderful and so friendly. The sites were big and spacious. Some with trees and some with out. This place too was peaceful. The only thing you heard on Sundays was the clip clop of the horses on the Amish buggies. I have told everyone about this RV park and cannot wait for them to enjoy it as much as we did.
We love this campground. We were here 4 years ago and wanted to come back. Nice view of lake with lots of trees and can walk to the beach and look across to the Mackinaw bridge. One of the things that we like about this campground is that is quiet, very few children. There are not many amenities for kids. Family that runs this campground are friendly and helpful. Shuttle to Ferry for Mackinaw and also the Casino in St Ignace comes to campground to pick you up. That way it is less driving when you get there. Hopefully we will get back there in another 4 years
RV park is perfect in every way. Nice concrete pads and picnic tables. Nice pavilion to use to cook on grills in center of sites. Was a little surprised at all the children. Did not realize so many people brought kids to a casino. The town of Manistee was a nice place to visit and tour and of course the casino was nice for people who like to gamble. This is our 2nd time in Michigan and would stop at Little River again.
The campground was really crowded on weekends with lots of tents, babies and kids. The sites were really tight, with not much room for car. The amenities were great, lots of things to do for children. Thankfully it was hot and we had to run air conditioner and could not hear all the screaming little ones. The owners were really nice and store was fantastic. The laundry facilities were also very nice. We would not stay there again in the middle of summer on a weekend.
Great place for kids. Lots of things for them to do. We stayed during the week so not as many but enough. Really nice campground and close by to lots of activities. We were there to visit the Dells. Of course that explains all the children with all the amusements at the Dells. We personally would not have wanted to be there on a weekend. The owners were very accommodating and very friendly. Sites were a little difficult to back in with all the trees. But overall our stay was really nice.
We spent a month at this campground January/February. We would not stay here again. We paid for a Ocean site but could not see the ocean for all the big rigs right on the beach and we paid a premium price. Sites were so close you could not open your awning if you wanted to. We did not find the people at this rv park friendly, to the contrary they were snobbish. And the weather definitely not warm in Destin at all. We will stay further south next year
We really liked this campground. Not big nor fancy but had everything we needed and a pretty nice view too and more importantly everyone was nice. I dislocated my shoulder when we arrived there and they even offered to take me to hospital in Apalachicola which was 40 minutes away. My husband took me and we had the opportunity to visit that town as well. We were here for 5 nights and would definitely come back again. Very peaceful.
We had the opportunity to stay here in July of 2008 and I have been meaning to review this place. We loved it here. Small but very nice and appealing. The sites however were plenty big and they were always cleaning. We watched them even clean out the fire pits when someone left. And important to us campground was close to all the places we wanted to visit - Pittsburgh, Washington and of course the casino not far from here. Really a quiet and quaing area in there town.
We stayed here in February after staying in Destin. We found that the people in this campground were so warm and friendly. The campground in Destin was too big and the rv'ers there definitely were not as friendly. We have already booked our site at Quail for next year for a month and are really looking forward to our visit and to take part in all the activities that they have to offer at clubhouse (and there are a lot). We were not bothered by road noise at all. Loved watching all the different birds at their pond.
