This park is really big compared to most places I have stayed. There are hundreds of sites including the tent areas. It is close enough to VA Beach to ride your bicycle on the paved bike path to the boardwalk. There is also a trolley service to the beach. This is definitely a family CG with lots of weekenders. During the week they close some of the bathrooms when occupancy is low. The new section of the park has paved pull throughs for a premium price. There is no cable TV and many trees which makes sat reception a challenge. There are several pools which were in good shape during our visit. On the big holiday weekends, such as Memorial Day the place is packed and very active with drunken party types all around. The security staff was very minimal. They do not have dumpsters for garbage, instead they want you to leave the trash bags at the end of your site and their staff comes by in golf carts to collect about once a day. The problem is there are squirrels all over the place that tear up the garbage bags and make a mess. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a fun place and I would stay there again.
This is the worst management that I have ever experienced. We reserved for a month well ahead of time and were quoted $843.00 for one month of water sewer and electric pull through site, and cable TV would be extra (no mention of any extra electrical charges). On check in we paid this amount with a credit card and we declined the cable TV (still no mention of extra electrical charges). After 10 days of our stay the owner informed us that we were also being charged for $0.20/kwh for electricity on top of the high monthly rate. According to her that is their policy, however we were never informed of this on reservation or at check in. She did offer to charge us the higher weekly rate which includes electricity rather than the monthly rate. In addition, there is an extra charge for every other little thing they can think of, such as, gate key for the automatic gate system, showers cost extra, wifi costs extra, cable cost extra, high prices on the washers and dryers, charges for any visitors even to just come and pick you up. The dumpsters are not emptied frequently enough and the sites are infested with ants. The staff treats the guests as if they are the enemy. No hospitality what so ever. This type of management style is what gives the RV industry a bad name. This is really a shame because the park could have such a different atmosphere with the proper ownership. I will not stay here again. Do not recommend this park to your worst enemy.
