Good place to stay on Lake Fork. We pulled a boat instead of a toad and they put our boat in the water for us. Beautiful views of the lake and abundant wildlife. Lots of fishing activity. Very good diner on site. We will return.
Clean park. Level concrete pads. They allow use of the exercise room in the hotel to RVers. Bath house is not finished yet but they have temporary ones available. We enjoy staying here and will return.
We loved the area and views. The property was nice and clean. We don't like being charged additional fees on arrival. They added a pet fee and a "resort" fee. What resort?? Their answer was the pool, although the heater is broken so it is too cold to use. Still had to pay the fee though! They don't even pick up trash. The site that we were placed in didn't have cable or a concrete patio, like the reservation stated.
The sites are so close, if your neighbor gets off center, your slides almost touch. The bath house is old. But it earns a 10 for the view of Lady Liberty and the NYC skyline right out your window. The staff is so nice. They are very pet friendly. We enjoyed watching the yachts come in and out of the harbor. There is a wonderful diner within walking distance that was featured on Diners, Dives and Drive-ins.
For the price you would expect a much nicer property. Close dirt sites, no trash pick up and staff that leaves a lot to be desired. The regulars are allowed to leave dogs tied out and unattended. We would not return to this property.
What a wonderful place! Immaculate bathhouse and grounds. Great staff. We had an issue with another camper letting their pit bull run lose and went to the front office to discuss. Management handled it for us and followed up at least twice to make sure that all was well. We had concern that the gravel might be difficult to level our big rig on but it is level and packed. Road is well maintained with no pot holes. We decided to stay in a 30 amp site so that we could enjoy a beautiful view out our front window of the lake and woods. Verizon has good service here. Be sure to eat breakfast/lunch on the island at McMahon's for good homestyle food and local character. Wegmans and Wal-Mart are a short drive and easy to swing by on your way back from the Falls.
This is a great place to stay overnight, or for a few days since it isn't too far from I-75. Just a few miles to shopping and good eats. Quiet park that is not fancy: no clubhouse, pool or playground. Sites are level, hard packed gravel with no patios. Bathhouse is new and clean. Laundry is very clean.
Nestled in the woods, the sites are dirt and rough. It was hard to level but we managed in the pull through site that we were given. The sites are fairly close together. The road into the park was very rough. We were there to visit Hyde Park Roosevelt historical site and would not advise staying here for that purpose. It took us at least an hour to get there, even though it was only about 25 miles away..
This is a nice, well run campground. The river runs around the campground. They have an interesting policy on pet waste. If you report someone not picking up their pet's waste, they give you $25, which they charge to the pet owner's credit card. They only have a few 50 amp sites so you need to reserve early. There is a very nice food store only a mile away.
Location, Location, Location. This place has it. There is nothing fancy at the campground but the view is awe inspiring. We stayed right on the Bay of Fundy and watched eagles soar overhead. At night you hear the fog horn and see three lighthouses. The owners are so friendly, they make you feel part of the family. We loved staying here and hope to return soon.
This older park is clean and well kept. We found it a perfect place to stay while visiting Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They recommended a local lobster pound that was terrific. Another staff member came back that evening on their own time to bring us wild blueberries. We would stay here again.
Every RVer should stay here at least once. The opportunity to meet other owners and TIffin staff is wonderful. We learned so many new things about using and maintaining our coach. We also made new friends that share our love of the product. If you are considering a new RV, be sure to come here and do the plant tour prior to buying. It is so interesting to watch an RV being built. The access that you are allowed, to the plant and staff, is amazing.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We felt safe and secure. Gravel sites were level and had enough room. The pool was large and clean. The bathrooms were very clean. Lots of trees. Great area to walk your dogs. Trash was retrieved regularly throughout the day from your site. Staff was accessible and friendly. They applied the rules to everyone equally, which made for a pleasant stay. Interstate noise was not a problem for us, we loved the easy access. We stayed here 8 days.
We love this park. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The facilities are ultra clean. The beach is lovely and never crowded. This is a state park not a resort so don't expect pools, grass or amenities like cable TV. If that is what you are looking for, just stay at Watercolor Inn next door. If staying here, relax and enjoy camping in the great outdoors!
Could be a "10" campground. Quiet and enjoyable Monday - Thursday, but weekends are loud and busy. On weekends we experienced others walking thru our site, kids running bikes into our Motorhome and a 2 year old playing under our car. Also, it would be nice if there was pump out service available since no full hook ups. The location is very scenic. Nice shopping and cafes nearby. We will return but during off season to avoid weekend rush.
We loved this park. The restrooms are the nicest we have ever seen, better than most hotels we have stayed in. Although not spacious, the sites are wide enough that your neighbor's sewer isn't in you sitting area as in some parks. We had no problem fitting our 40' motorhome with two superslides and awnings in our site, plus our tow vehicle. Sites are level. Concrete patios are large and well maintained. Very nice picnic tables. We will camp here again.
For over $100 a night, you would expect at least the room to sit at the picnic table without having a sewer hose under your feet. The beach is a joke, yuck! Good luck getting into a shower or even the bath house. They pack this place. We would not stay here again.
This park never disappoints. The staff is always helpful. The park is always well maintained. The only thing they need is updated bath houses with better ventilation. We love returning to this park again and again.
This is a nice park. The staff is helpful and friendly. The restrooms are immaculate. It is disappointing that they don't allow dogs on the beach at all and it is difficult to walk your dogs due to an abundance of sand spurs. I would give this park a 10 if they put in a small area with grass for dogs. We walked everywhere we visited because of the convenience of the location. It was an easy walk to the beach every morning. Watercolor, Seaside and Grayton Beach for longer afternoon walks. Our favorite place to eat is Hurricane Oyster Bar in Grayton Beach, it is good prices for great food.
Although it is a challenge to get to the campsite in a big rig, we managed to get in and it was great. The pull through sites are large and well maintained. The fall foliage was beautiful. We had deer and squirrels right outside our windows. If you want a quiet place to relax, this is it.
We really enjoyed staying at this campground and plan on returning. Although all the sites can't accommodate a rig our size, we had plenty of choices. There is lots of shade and beautiful views. The proximity to downtown allows easy sight seeing. Be sure to catch the laser show on Stone Mountain.
Nice park to use when you want to put a boat in the water and enjoy a weekend at the lake. RV park is no frills but the grounds are well maintained. There is a boat marina there, and they allow children to feed large carp, which is fun. Not all sites are level. Did not use the restroom so can't comment.
The site was level, spacious, and shady. Roads were well maintained gravel. Very friendly staff, except for the owner, he is a grouch but his wife was so sweet she makes up for him. It was surprising to arrive after 9 pm and find the staff still in the office and available to check us in. The area is wooded and lovely but convenient to everything. We enjoyed our time here and would return.
The sites are level packed gravel. They are adequately spaced. This is a good park that could be great. The grass needed clipping. The bathhouse was new but was not cleaned frequently enough. Be aware that the bus ride to the metro is long and miserable. We did enjoy the Gray Line tour and they pick you up at the park which is very nice.
Very nice campground with so many amenities. The kids love the water park. The dogs love the freedom of the dog park with their own beach. We love the walking trails. One park that we all agree on, we will return.
Extremely nice staff. Very clean and well groomed campground. Sites are somewhat close but adequate. The owners have put together a pamphlet that gives information and directions to many area places of interest, which was very helpful. We will visit here again.
Although the park has all gravel roads, they are well maintained. The sites on the river are back-in, but long and level. Our 40' motorhome went right in and there was no problem with space for the slides or awnings. The river view is wonderful. We watched birds, turtles and fish splash while sitting at our campfire. We used our DirecTv so can't comment on cable TV. Good Verizon reception on our wireless internet. Only improvement they need are trash cans at the pet walk to dispose of the pickup bags.
This has to be one of the most enjoyable stays we have had in Alabama. The family that owns this campground are extremely pleasant and accommodating. It is oblivious that they have worked very hard to make the most of this roadside campground.
This park is very clean and well kept. We really enjoyed using the driving range while staying there. We were in a motorhome pulling a bass boat and had no difficulty navigating. We look forward to staying again.
