One of the worst campgrounds we have ever stayed in! Price of $36 is for a small back-in site and they charge $4 extra for a shower and extra $ for Wi-Fi. The sites in this campground are packed in very tight and ours does not have a table of any kind. Our site was partially resurfaced recently with dirt/gravel and is uneven as a result. The showers are in the main office and since the main office doesn't open until 9 AM you cannot take a shower until then! At 10PM they forced our neighbors (who did not pay for a full hook-up site) to move because they accidentally gave them this site which had already been reserved by someone else (they did not have any other open full hook-up site for the late arrival). Staff could be friendlier since they all act like they just came from a wake. Fortunately we are staying just one night.
KOA's are sometimes good sometimes not so good. This campground is excellent. Its a small KOA in a beautiful forest setting with fall colors on all the trees. Pull-through sites are easy to navigate and the cable TV is excellent. Friendly staff. Roads and sites are packed gravel which is a plus. Would stay here again.
One of the finest campgrounds in America, even with the price considered. Long, level sites and no problems getting in or out. They have a metro bus stop in the campground and one of the staff provides an orientation at 4pm each day on sightseeing in DC; she also sells tour tickets on site. They have 40, yes 40, washers and dryers in the laundry room. They also have an onsite cafe open all day which is convenient. Staff is very helpful. Since I can't find a thing to nit-pick about this campground gets my gold-star rating of 10/10.
This campground may be in a nice setting and is family oriented but it is not worth the price. Had trouble with unlevel site backing in and had to choose another. Problem is sites are grass only back-ins and after rain you can get stuck backing in. The campground has a silly gate for getting in and out. You have to go into the office to get a token for the gate every time you want to come back in to camp! Took a while to get a propane tank filled since no one was available to fill it. We would have expected a lot more for $48 per nite. Would not stay here again.
This campground is different I'll say that. First, you pick out your campsite and then you have to come back to the office to pay. On the subject of paying they only take cash which is also unusual. The sites out on the hill where you can get satellite TV reception are not level. We had to try a couple to find one I could level up on. The sewer connection is at the far back of the site--so my 20 foot sewer hose would not come close to reaching it. The laundry room closes at 8PM. The manager was in the laundry room at 7:30PM to remind us it closes at 8PM. As though we couldn't read the 8 different signs inside and outside the laundry building about closing time! Also, there are no exit signs in this large meandering campground with many loops. Try driving out after dark on a drippy and foggy evening like we did. On a positive note, the campground is quiet inside and out (there are no noisy roads, freeways or trains nearby). The campground is in a nice setting and many of the back-in sites are in the woods which is nice.
This campground is perfect in every respect except one - the managers. Beautiful setting, spacious campground with all grass sites, can accommodate virtually any size rig pulling any size tow vehicle. We had friends in the area drive in to see us. First time, the narrow driveway up near the office was blocked by a person checking in, so our friends drove in the "wrong way" on the exit road and boy did they hear about that. Another couple of friends dropped by and they plain forgot to check in as guests. Boy did we hear about that also. This business is for the convenience of the customer, not the other way around but these managers need to work on that and lighten up a little. Nevertheless, I would stay here again rules and managers notwithstanding.
This is a very nice campground and is fairly well secluded. Our site was very long and had hard pack gravel which is a good thing since it rained cats and dogs the nite we were there. Cable TV was a plus. Just a few minor complaints. The roads in the park are not directionally marked and are only one lane; we met someone coming in as we were leaving. Campground prohibits mats on grass and because of the rain and falling leaves etc we tracked all kinds of junk into our trailer. Site was not quite level but close enough. All in all we would stay here again.
This campground has a couple of very nice small lakes which add to the aesthetics. Very clean and well maintained. Only negatives are you have to pay a $10 deposit (refundable) for a card key for the showers and laundry; cypher looks would be more convenient. Also, the turn out of our campsite is a little sharp but certainly doable. The laundry area is very clean and modern. No cable TV in a town of 16,000? Would stay here again.
This is a nice park overall. It is compact with some narrower roads and tight turns (if you are near the end of a row). The staff in the office rate a 10/10. They were very helpful in getting us info on the area and guiding us to our site. I would stay here again.
This is an excellent campground with very friendly owners. We had brake problems which needed to be fixed in town and they had no issue with us staying well into the afternoon of our departure day without any additional charge. The pool and hot tub are also a nice touch. Pull through sites are a plus also. Only minor issue was our site, though hard-packed gravel, was a little crowned so we had to be careful when we set up. Its an older campground but is kept up well. We would definitely stay here again.
We cannot find any fault with this campground so we gave it a perfect rating. Great paved interior roads and concrete pads at each site. We did not use any of their facilities so we cannot comment on them. We certainly did not find any other guests violating rules as one reviewer did. Great views of the lake. We would stay here again.
This is a family oriented park with a water slide and free bikes to use. Its a little hilly here and there in the park but nothing extreme. Had no issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. Sites were ample and the park is quiet since our site was set back from the highway and there are no railroads nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a fairly nice campground overall. The Bar-B-Que dinner was a real plus since few campgrounds offer any sort of in camp eating. The reviewers who complain about the area neatness or the tight corners are being too picky. I was parked in the 2nd to last site before the turn-around to go back out. Since I couldn't make a sharp U-turn solution is to simply drive out the "wrong way" which isn't an issue. The staff is very friendly, all of them.
Very nice campground with plenty of trees. Paved interior roads and concrete pads are a plus. This is our second stay here and it continues to be a nice park. Only drawbacks are minor; the office closes at 5 which is early, and some sprinkler heads were broken because they are placed right at the edge of the concrete pad.
Very friendly personnel and a very clean park. This is a small campground but all spaces are large and big rig friendly. We tripped our circuit breaker a couple of times but that was because we were using microwave and air conditioner at same time. The town of Salem does have a nice grocery store and gas if you need it. We would definitely stay here again. Our rating would have been perfect except laundry room only has 2 washing machines and there was a bright campground light fixture over our site which shown through the skylight in our rig.
The nicest thing about this park is all the hookups worked. Has a lot of permanent residents with older trailers etc. Owner/manager is friendly though. Doesn't have anything in the way of aesthetics going for it. Would probably not stay here again.
