This is a great family-oriented campground. There is fishing, scuba diving lessons, swimming, paved roads for bike riding, and much more. The bathrooms could stand a little more cleaning, and really need air conditioning. I was also surprised that the CG management does not enforce the leash rules for dogs. There were many dogs that were not leashed at the sites. But, overall, this is a very nice campground. There are lots of trees for shade (by the pond).
This campground is AWESOME!! I have never been to a place like this before. It is so peaceful. The lots are huge, roads are paved, and you don't hear traffic from a nearby road or interstate. We have a lakefront site - so beautiful!! When we first got here, we saw two eagles! One was in the lake near the shore and it's mate was in the trees. I have never seen an eagle before. We saw them fly around several times. The bathrooms are wonderful - each are in their own 'room' - equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, and lots of towel bars and hooks. The shower stall also has the fiberglass molding - there are seats there to hold your shampoo. They are very clean - I never used the shower in our camper this trip - I only used the shower house. There is a nice bike path around the lake - it is a little over a mile long. It is perfect for bike rides, walking, and riding golf carts. The pool and hot tub is nice. There is also a nice laundromat and exercise room. We stayed in one of the lakefront sites - some of these sites have hot tubs. There is currently construction going on to increase the number of sites. The only bad thing about this RV resort - I hate to leave the peace and quiet to go to town or the beach. If you haven't been here before and are planning on coming to the area, I highly recommend this cg. We will definitely return.
There are both good and bad points for this campground: Good - Beautiful, well-maintained CG, the cleanest and nicest showerhouses I have ever seen in a CG (there is also a radio playing in one of the showerhouses!) Cable TV hookups, WiFi. Bad - We have never seen a worse case of mosquitoes ever! They are out in full force at all hours of the day and night! We were told by the staff that the owner has the county spray for them every Thursday. Well, we were there on a Friday, and we weren't there for 10 minutes and were already getting eaten alive by the mosquitoes! We were unable to let our dogs out of the camper, except to go to the bathroom. We were also unable to eat outside, because we would be the meal for the flying bugs! They must be there due to the small creek that runs through the middle of the CG. Due to the mosquitoes, we will not return.
This is a very nice campground. We were there over Labor Day weekend. Very crowded, but no loud roudy guests. This is a very family-oriented campground. They have alot of activities - hayrides, movies, rental bikes, miniature golf, game room, playground area and a nice fishing pond. The lots are a little cramped, but they had concrete pads - very nice! You can tell the owners put alot of work into this campground. Everyone on the staff are very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms are very clean, but I didn't check out the showers. We will definitely return.
This campground is split into 2 sections. Older sites from I-170 are at the top of the hill. Newer larger sites near or at the lakefront are full hookups - there are 50 of these sites. There are large blacktop pads wide enough for camper, carpet, and vehicles to park on. There are air-conditioned restrooms, showerhouse, and laundromat. In town stores are within 5 miles of the campground. The campstore also has a wide range of camping needs. Park employees are very friendly and helpful, although the security is lax.
This campground has been in business for over 25 years, and it is in serious need of some upkeep. There is no type of drainage system. It rained for about 1 1/2 hours one day and there were huge puddles of standing water everywhere. Our family rented 3 lots and one of them was downhill and the entire lot was filled with water and mud. Other lots were also in standing water, and a lot of folk checked out due to the muddy mess. The water never drains and is a perfect environment for mosquitoes. After 2 days, the water was still standing. Nothing is being done to fix the problem. The owner is very rude and unfriendly and does not know how to deal with the public. He rides around the park on a 4-wheeler and cuts through the campsites, instead of mainly staying on the road. He almost ran over one of the people in our group. Another bad item about this campground: the sewer hookup is right next to the next person's picnic table. This is not good. Also, for some reason, the electric and water hookups are separate. They are on each edge of the campsites. Does this make any sense? The rates are rather high. I don't mind paying a little bit more for quality, but this campground did not meet that criteria. I talked to other campers who were staying here, and they were also disappointed in the campground and the owner, so it was just not us. I will definitely not return to this campground.
This is a beautiful campground - very well maintained by the staff. The lake is lovely. The pool is very large, but could have used a little cleaning (but it was not bad for a very busy weekend with alot of swimmers!) Alot of the sites are a little cramped, but we stayed on the lakefront, and had plenty of room. The website claims there is cable tv, but only a few sites have it. But, since it was great weather all weekend, cable tv was not missed! There are tons of activities scheduled for family and kids. There is paddle boats, fishing, swimming in the pool and lake, and so much more. The roads are paved, which is great for bike riding. The rules are strictly enforced, which is wonderful. We will definitely return!
Overall, this is a nice CG, but the sites need some maintenance. They either need to plant more grass, or add gravel. There was some rain, and since the lots are mainly dirt, there was mud everywhere. Also, the steep drive to get into the CG needs to be grated - a couple larger rigs could not get up this incline. As a plus, the sites are very large - you do not feel closed in here.
This is a nice campground. The lots are long, but a little narrow. They have a large area up front for pets to exercise. They have a small laundromat, basketball net, swingset, and pool. The bathrooms are very clean, but the stalls are VERY tiny. It would be difficult for a large person to move around in them. Showers looked clean, but small. The entire campground is very clean and well-maintained, albeit small. Tour buses pick you up out front for different tours of the Falls - we highly recommend the daytime tour. The evening tour (Canadian Illumination) is nice, but they usually run late. The CG owners live next door, and they take very good care of the CG. I would definitely return to this CG.
I think this is an excellent campground. The lots are the largest that I have ever seen - about 2 or 3 times a normal campsite size! This is a gated CG - very nice touch! The owners live adjacent to the CG and they are very helpful and nice. We did not use the showers, but they are clean, as are the restrooms. The only negative thing I can say about this CG, is there are no soap dispensers in the bathrooms. They have a laundromat. There is a fishing lake, baseball diamond, swimming pool, basketball court, and play area. Very clean and well maintained campground. We will definitely return for a longer visit!
This is probably the best campground we have been to so far. There is a playground area for the kids, a nice swimming pool, and alot of room to ride bikes and scooters. The owners escort you out to your site, which is a nice touch. They are very helpful to customers. There are alot of trees, so there is alot of shade. The sites are roomy. The only negative thing is the quiet time starts at 10pm, which seems kind of early. But, the CG is very clean and well-maintained. You are in town, but you would never know it, due to all the trees. I highly recommend this campground.
This campground is under new management and it seems they got too greedy. We talked to some folks that had camped here before and they said the campground has gone downhill. All but 3 of the pull-throughs have been divided into two separate campsites. The lots are only about 20' wide and not very long. When your awning is out, you are almost touching your neighbor's camper. The rigs are dangerously close together to have a campfire. Also, the picnic tables are about 2' from the neighbor's sewer hookup! Not very nice for outdoor eating. There are many trees with low-hanging brances next to the campsites, so if you have a large rig, it would be tricky pulling into the small sites. There is no overflow parking for extra or larger tow vehicles. We have a F-350 duelly and there was barely enough room to park it on our small site. We will not return to this site. The campers next to us said the same thing.
This is mainly a 'parking lot' for 5th wheels and campers whose owners want to boat or fish in the Ohio River. Alot of older, run-down campers. There are no shower houses on site. No TV or radio signals. This is not a very clean campground. The sites are extremely small - there is barely enough room for your rig and the awning. I would not want to have a campfire here - the rigs are too close together. The sites next to the river are electric and water only - no sewer. The owners are very nice, but this is not a campground for kids - there are no activities - no pool, playground, basketball court - nothing. I will definitely not return to this campground.
This is one of the best campgrounds we have been to. The hosts are extremely helpful. The views are beautiful. The sites are roomy and there are lots of pine trees for shade. There is a steep hill to get into the campground, but that was scheduled to be grated and paved soon. We will definitely return to this campground.
