The most well run state park we have stayed in and I give all Georgia parks a high ranking. Very large sites that were super clean, not a cigarette butt to be found anywhere. We arrived late but one of the two spots still available was still great. Others may have had better views but we were perfectly happy. Great walking trails, beautiful river and stocked pond. We brought our 3 dogs but this is a great place for kids, lots to do.
This place is first class from the moment you check in.We brought our Vespas and after off loading them they immediately took our motorcycle trailer away and promptly returned it the morning we were leaving. Stayed in site 182 which backed up to a creek and the woods, so secluded and peaceful. Sites are not huge but big enough and are nicely appointed but as mentioned by other reviews, these are all owned by individuals so the amenities vary site to site. Park itself is beautiful with lots of shade trees. We didn't use the tennis courts or pool but they both looked great. Not many kids so if you have children not sure this is the best place for you but it is very dog friendly.
It was nice but not as great as I had read. A big section was closed for renovation which held some of the best sites. Fairly level sites and the one we were on was pretty secluded but all in all we preferred some other state parks to this one.
This was our first time at a park that was not state run, and honestly these types are not our cup of tea. But with that being said, the reservations were handled efficiently, the confirmation arrived a few days after we made them, and when we arrived after hours the directions to our site were PERFECT. Place was super clean and very well maintained, would definitely stay here again if we needed an overnight stopover.
Everything that everyone said it was. All sites are individually owned so are a little different from each other, and some are a little nicer than others. But all water front sites have a gorgeous view and are ALL well maintained. Maintenance and garbage pick-up come by daily, and the grounds are impeccable. Ann is the manager and she made sure we were happy with our accommodations and was extremely helpful. My 9 instead of a 10 is related to a screaming child that invaded "our space". Do us all a favor and leave the little loud ones with a sitter or pick a more child friendly location.
Well run campground all the way around. We had site # 27 which is right on the water, and it was just beautiful. Each site shares trash cans, which is very convenient and the sites are fairly set apart from each other. Ours had new fencing installed and really added to the look of the site. All in all a great experience and we would definitely recommend this CC and come back for the beautiful view.
This was our first trip ever in an RV, so admittedly I don't have too much to go on. But the grounds and bathrooms were clean, the employees were friendly and they patrolled the CG every few hours. We got there a little late for a primo spot, but it was nice none the less, would definitely recommend this CG. I did read a review about avoiding the RR crossing in Rutledge (which looks like an adorable town)but we had no problem in our 31' Class C.
