Very nice park and staff. From the time you arrive to the time you leave, the staff is very helpful and informative. Nice clean large sites with cable and WiFi! There is also a very good restaurant next door to the park. We will be back. We stayed with Passport America Discount.
This campground is family owned and the owners take care of you. The owners are on the property, kindly ensuring you have all that you need and everything is working properly. They go above and beyond caring for you. We have never experienced this hospitality anywhere. The views of the Bay of Fundy are beautiful and the owners are also helpful providing information on the surrounding area. The park is very near The Fundy Trail. I would highly recommend staying in this park !
Although this park had full service hookups and met our needs, I do think it is misrepresented in the camping books. It does not deserve the accolades it gives itself. This park has a high amount of dust in the air due to the roads, the sites are muddy and uneven and there is no office or internet access available. We stayed as Coast-to-Coast members so, it was worth what we had to pay.
We stayed at this park for 6 days and were very pleased. The staff was informative and friendly. We were able to hand pick our site and the property was beautiful and scenic. There is a walking path around the area and along the beach. I would highly recommend this campground.
This review pertains specifically to registration and cancellation as opposed to actually staying at Wayside. On August 13th, I talked with the staff and made reservations for two nights, September 10th and 11th. He requested our credit card number "only to confirm" the reservation. On September 8th in person, my husband and I stopped in and said, "because we have had time to already see the area we would be leaving Nova Scotia early and would need to cancel our reservation". He asked, "where are you staying now and said it was a party park". replied, we hadn't noticed because we were gone most of the time. He said, "well you should have stayed with us". He was more concerned about where we had been staying than the need to cancel. He insisted on charging us for one of the two nights regardless of the fact we notified him two days in advance of the cancellation. We have stayed in many parks and have never been treated with such disrespect. I wouldn't recommend staying at Wayside under any circumstances. There are many other nice parks in the area.
