All I can say is "wow". The nicest campground in the Black Hills! Staff and owner are super friendly & nice. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. There is no cable TV, but I don't go camping to watch TV. Grounds, shower houses, pool are very, very nice & clean. Great location to Sturgis, Rapid City and "the gulch" (Deadwood). Reasonable rates, great location, wi-fi works great, clean everything, wonderful staff. What more can you ask for? I found my gem of a campground in "the hills". I could live here!
Where do I start? We were strung out from the road and stayed only one night out of desperation. Campsite we were put in was gushing water & tripping my circuit breakers. Moved us to another site after we were all set up. Well, I filled out a comment sheet listing all the problems we had over the years. Don't ever do that! The manager called my home phone, was rude, disrespectful, called me a liar and hung up on me! This is a glorified parking lot that is way too expensive. Grass is always calf high. Not well maintained, rude staff & way overpriced. Will never, ever stay here again. I will camp at Wal-Marts if necessary. This is why they are near empty (on holidays!) when other campgrounds are full.
Folks, I would pass on this campground. Very neglected. Had to pay at gas station. People were living in filth (looked like full time) in their trailers. Pool was a swamp cess-pool that hadn't been touched in years.
As other folks stated, this RV Park offers nothing other than a place to sleep. No pool, cable or wi-fi. It sits behind a truck stop. It is way overpriced. The bathroom was clean but they have d-con in there. I wanted to run screaming for the hills! There is a lot of mold in the bathroom also. The fella that checked us in was very nice. This campground is for sale, maybe that is why it is neglected. No, I would not stay there again.
Wow! I am surprised by the comments on Royal View Camp Resort. We camped here in May 2008 & the proprietor was one of the best campground owners I have ever met. He just runs a tight ship. He lives here, it is his home. Would you want someone to come to your home and disrespect your grounds? We stayed here 2 weeks and he was very helpful, friendly and kind. Invited us to his Memorial Day Crawdad boil with his family! Wonderful folks! I would stay here again as the owner made us feel like family. It is the cleanest campground in that area. The owner is a very, very hard worker and takes pride in his campground.
