Space #17 - Seemed to be one of the best in the park it was a pull-through and gave no problems to our 28 foot 5th wheel we pull with a longbed Chev truck. My sister's family had #18 and managed to get their 29 foot 5th wheel backed in and their slides pulled out but not much room to walk around the trailer to the back where the firepit and picnic table was. We also had a 10x10 tent on our site with the picnic table and our awning pulled out made for a cozy spot. The 10pm quiet rule is strictly enforced by a Ranger, who had to come and let us know to keep it down, we laugh loud. However, the park and bathroom shower areas are cleaner than most others. I did feel like we were being "babysat" when the Ranger and Host kept driving through the park about every 15 to 20 minutes. If you like a quiet, "by the book" park this place is for you.
Varied Spaces - We have stayed here many times. This is our favorite camping spot in Washington. The park is always clean, the Hosts are always pleasant. The full service loop sites 1-14 on the lake side are too small for our 28 foot fifth wheel, the best spots are 18-24. Our last stay was in loop B with no septic but the spaces are larger and seem a little more private. You loose the beach access from the campsites here but it was a good area. Showers are 50 cents for 3 minutes now. Overall the park is pretty peaceful for the size and the lake adds a great atmosphere. The local day use area has a beach but was too busy this last visit, there was not enough parking.
Space #22. There is alot of work being put into this park now. This site was a back-in, blacktopped with nice gravel area where the picnic table & fire pit were located. It says there was a tent pad but we could not see how a tent could fit into this space. Privacy is minimal in this park but the stay is for the beach and local towns and sights. We had early morning squals both nights we stayed and are not sure if this is normal for the area. They are building a new shower area and dump stations that were close to being finished. We enjoyed the kite flying and the town of Long Beach which is a must see. Did not have time to do much more. It is my favorite sandy beach park on the Washington Coast.
Space #15 - We have a 28 foot fifth wheel that we pull with a Chevy crew cab w/8 foot bed. Our space was against the hill and was a little difficult to get into but not too bad. Have had worse time at other places. Bring a long sewer and water hose if your waste access is in the rear as the dump and water is at the front portion of the site. Our awning pulled out fine. The kids had a great time on the swings and the staff was very friendly. We were able to purchase advance tickets for Silverwood theme park at a small discount which was very helpful the next morning when we went there. Seems very family oriented, lots of children playing. The store had quarts of milk when I had run out and we had ice cream bars out on the deck in front of the office. They offered a family movie at night and sold popcorn. They also had a group campfire but noticed there were also a few other fire pits available. Small spawning stream ran the front boundary. Over all it was a good stay for the 2 nights we were there. I gave it an 8 because privacy was low.
Space #2 - We have a 28 foot 5th wheel we pull with a 2006 Chev crew cab with an eight foot bed. This space was really too small for us but made due for an over nighter. No privacy at all and the one tree separating the spots was not trimmed back and scraped the truck. Spaces too close together in this area. Space was a gravel mound thrown down in the grass and was difficult to get level. We ended up leaving the trailer hooked to the truck. The owner was very nice. It was close and convenient to the Crystal Gold Mine which we enjoyed very much before stopping over night.
Hospitality! Hospitality! Hospitality! This was the best choice in West Yellowstone for us. Our entire family met at the park for 5 days. We rented 2 pull-through's, one cabin & an on-site RV. The shower's were squeaky clean. The laundry room was clean and there were 6 washer's & 6 dryers. The #5 cabin had a queen bed and also was very clean. The game room was a favorite for the kids. The owner was easily accessable and had great tips about where to fish and shop. Quiet hours were enforced. We forgot our coaxial cable and our bbq wasn't adequate but the owner helped us right out by loaning us the items from the park. It was a very enjoyable stay. The sites were slightly skinny but in spite of that we would definitely choose this park over any other we drove by in West Yellowstone.
