This is the worse campground I have ever visited. It was dirty, crowded and poorly maintained. There were weeds growing in the large rocks at the sites. The rocks on the site were hard to walk on. the sewer hookups are located far from the locations of the other utilities. They charge a resort fee, but it certainly has no resort amenities other than what you pay extra for. It sits on the river, but there is no access to the river without walking through the river campsites. The river is the only place in the campground with sites that I would recommend. Be aware that if you stay near the river you should be self contained because it is a considerable hike up a hill to access the restrooms. The access to the bike trail is nice.
The campground had very nice people at the front desk. It was mostly a large gravel lot with site very close to each other. I really prefer sites with grass. It was a well maintained facility. It was close to a city dog park and a city park. It was also a nice location for visiting Mesa Verde. There was also deer near the grounds. It was quite full and there were not enough showers or laundry facilities for the number of guests.
This was a nice campground, but not exceptional. It has no grass. It was mostly a gravel lot. They did have a nice dog run and great pizza that they delivered to your motorhome site. The pool was clean. The ladies at the front desk were nice.
