This is the type of place we'd been looking for during three years of full-timing. Gorgeous grounds, large concrete pads with plenty of patio space. The "value for money" ratio is outstanding. I've stayed at much, much worse for much, much more. Friendly staff (nice July 4th barbeque), etc. No, it is NOT in Spokane, but in Deer Park about 20 miles north. It's a clear shot up route 2/395. If you have a few days to spend, get off the Interstate and head up here.

Sorry to read of the pet limit problem of the last reviewer, but this is the finest military, and one of the finer all-round, parks I've stayed at. Very large pull-throughs, nicely shaded and landscaped sites and surroundings. Sure, the Thunderbird aeronautic team based at Nellis AFB fly by once in a while, but I consider that pretty good company. Nice, friendly people. No cable TV or I'd give them full grades. I had no trouble getting a reservation, but imagine that snowbirding makes that a bit tougher in mid-winter.

As mentioned in the previous review, there are abuses to the in-and-out policy by the locals. Having said that, however, this is an amazing park for an amazing price. Large, shaded sites, fire pits, picnic tables, Wi-Fi, easy walk to park's lakefront, and good over-air digital TV coverage (8 or so channels w/some HD). We found all campers to be friendly, as were the park rangers.

We stayed here two years ago and didn't think we'd return. Glad we did, as the owners have been working hard on upgrading the grounds and facilities since then. As mentioned, plan ahead and get a reservation and gate pass code. There is a phone to the office outside the gate, but with so few short term sites it's also a good idea to know there's a spot waiting.

Our nightly rate was based on an off-season, monthly stay. We wintered here and score it highly for amenities and a location that can't be beat. Enjoyed the heated pools and hot tubs throughout the winter. It's also a great spot for urban family camping. They've just installed a small skateboard park that younger teens will enjoy. Yes, it's tight, and yes it can get noisy especially as warm weather sets in, but where else can you get a bayfront stay in hyper-expensive San Diego for a shade over 30 dollars a night?

This is one sweet little park. Immaculate. Everything you could want including a grass sodded doggy pen. Nicely shaded throughout. We called early and had no trouble getting a pull-through spot long enough for our 40-footer. Good value for money.
