Stayed here for three nights to visit the Brainard area. Upon driving into the park I was concerned I was on the wrong road since they had attractive light posts along the side of the road. The office was clearly marked and we went in for a very quick and painless check-in. They had a guide in a golf cart lead us into the site and made certain we were squared up for the utilities. The site was very well shaded with big oak trees, level and a great view of the lake. The utilities hooked up easily and we walked around the park. They have three docks for boats as well as a launching ramp next to a sand beach. The children's playground was large with several pieces of interesting play equipment. We didn't go in the heated pool but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves in there. The pride of ownership really comes through with the constant attention to maintenance details and the cheerful staff. The staff are very welcoming and have a great attitude toward hospitality.
Hat's off to the manager who let us try 3 sites until we found the one that we really liked. The park is really well laid out with lots of trees and greenery and nice wide spaces. Park is quiet at night which makes for a good night's sleep. Even though it is outside of town it is only 10 minutes to get to Old Town which is a great place to wander around. Would stay here again.
The entire park is gravel which is raked and watered daily which not only keeps the dust down but has a nice visual effect. The staff is very helpful and will do whatever they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The view of the lights of Las Cruces at night was very nice. We found the park to be very quiet during the day and at night.
Nice park that is immense but very well laid out that makes getting around easy. The staff are great and go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Spaces are nicely laid out with good access to utilities and a concrete patio complete with a table and four chairs. Only caveat would be that the main park access gate closes at night and you need to circle around to the main entrance on Irvington. Would definitely stay here again.
Had trouble getting reservations as the phone connection was poor but made them finally. The park is large and very well laid out with easy back ins and well maintained asphalt pads and picnic table area. They do have cable which was a good find. Internet is free but fairly slow - we ended up using the Verizon MiFi and got 4GLTE which was fast. The staff is helpful and there is a small grocery, snack and limited camping gear available. A shuttle runs up and down the rows of campsites and gives free rides to the casino next door. Hd a good time and would come back next year.
Stayed here for two nights in early August. Large park-like setting with dense woods around the perimeter. The pull thrus and 50 Amp power books early so we ended up with a back in 30 Amp with water which was on the perimeter closest to the St. Louis River. The sites are adequate but can be a challenge to level your larger rigs as many of the perimeter spaces are not very flat. The 30 Amp power was good and we had no problems with our appliances but didn't run any of the AC units as it was cool outside at night. The staff is very friendly and will do whatever they can to make your visit enjoyable. Just don't be alarmed when your GPS starts routing you through a residential neighborhood - the park is at the end of the road.
Spent three nights here in early August and really enjoyed the facilities. The campsites are decent sized and reasonably level gravel which we had no trouble leveling the MH. The park was full and we had to change campsites on the last night but the hookups were easy and leveling was quick. The campground is close to town and we walked there several times a day. The staff was great and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. The views of the lake are terrific from some of the campsites and be sure to check the site map to choose a perimeter site.
