Campground toilet/shower building was locked. We did not realize until after we paid fee. Nearest toilet was nearby but it was locked at night and not open in the morning. There were only a couple of other RVs there but there was no one else around nor were any signs posted. What a disappointment, this is a lovely park and nice campground, very convenient to the highway, downtown, college.
Not suitable for big rigs. Narrow, winding roads in campground, some sites very small. Quieter cousin to Peninsula State Park, more off the beaten path. Beautiful view from observation tower 225 feet above Sturgeon Bay.
Concrete pads for RVs, separate tent area. Some sites not suitable for larger rigs: too short, no pull-throughs. Shaded sites but campground very open, no barriers between sites. Good for stopover. Some noise from nearby highway. Good for launching boat into Green Bay. Laundry also available. Flush toilets, fire rings. Not too far from Green Bay or good stopover on way to Door County. 20 or 30 amp sites. Some water hookups very far.
Excellent location for visiting Door County. Many activities available within park: bike and boat rentals, hiking and biking trails, boat launch, nature center. In summer, there is live theatre performances. We stayed in Tennison Bay campground, one of several in the park. Sites were large, level, shady. Would definitely stay here again. The "pad" for the RV/trailer is dirt, not gravel. It rained the first night, so we had a mud puddle. Then it dried out and got very dusty. Good showers.
