We really enjoyed our time here spent over Memorial Day Weekend. So much that we booked again for next year. For being a busy weekend it didn't seem to be overcrowded. Bathrooms were up to date & cleaned regularly. They probably could use more bathhouses on site though. We stayed on one of the river sites. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of them. They were gravel and all appeared to be level. There were a lot of activities for all ages all weekend long. Turns out we never got to experience many of them since the kids were kept busy along the river. There is a rail line across the river with freight trains that run at all hours. They can be loud, but we actually liked watching them pass by. Also, there is beautiful countryside to explore. Highly recommend a drive thru Shade Mt. to the Mt. Pisgah Altar overlooking Snyder County about 10miles away. Overall we loved this CG. Almost forgot - very friendly staff and always available for help. It's clear these owners take pride in their CG.
This was a very nice campground. Great overall experience from check-in to check-out. All sites were well maintained, and for being hilly all sites looked to be level. We opted for a premo site, but probably didn't need to as I noticed all of the sites were in great shape. There a lot of seasonals here, but they were very friendly and welcoming. The campground has a lot of activities, and plenty to offer all ages. Great fishing, and hiking trails too. Wi-Fi was very slow, but not a big deal since we were so busy around the park. We will be back again this summer. One of our favorite campgrounds to date. Highly recommend bringing a bike although they do have golf carts to rent. Overall campground price was high, but we got what we paid for.
What a great place. We camped here on a very cold spring weekend. For not being the peak season there was a ton of things for our kids to enjoy. The park does a great job with activities for all ages. Our site was on the lake , and was in great shape. Plenty of room between campers, and solid, level lots. We will for sure be back for another visit in the fall. We had one not so friendly lady working the desk, but overall the staff was fine. There is a lady there that runs all the activities. She's awesome! A true asset to the CG. Can't wait to visit this place when it's warmer and the plants green up. So far this CG is one of our favorites.
Stayed here for an August weekend. Very nice CG. Lots are level, shaded and well graded with gravel. Very well kept. Despite poor weather still tons to do on site as well as at the area state parks. Best part of the weekend was a blind golf cart obstacle course - very funny and fun. Just a great place at a great price. Highly recommend.
Just like most of the other comments - no real reason to stay here unless you are going to the park. The cc itself does not have much to offer. Been staying here for 5 years now. Highly recommend not staying near the pavilion. Whenever there is a function here the place gets lit up like a Walmart parking lot at night. At the time of our latest stay there was a 50th wedding anniversary going on that lasted well in to the night. A lot of rowdies from the party stayed up partying until 3am. There was no security around to subdue the behavior. Also, the lady working the desk could have been more pleasant. When checking in we found her to be pretty rude. So much so that even my 7 year old said something about her. She could use some lessons on customer service. Will think twice about staying here next year.
This campground itself will not "wow" you, but the superior service and beautiful surrounding area will. We stayed here this past Memorial Day weekend and had a great stay. The staff was so very friendly. When we arrived our cable was out. They fixed it immediately. We accidentally locked our keys in the motorhome during a huge storm around closing time. Many from the staff stayed just to help us out. Plenty of planned activities for the kids along with great fishing either on the river or canal. Pool was nice, but small. Need to get rid of the 25 cent showers. Do you really need to charge for that? Very nice sites directly on the river, but most seem to be seasonal. Again, the staff was friendly, fun, and helpful. Can't go wrong with this place. No issue with the seasonals either.
