When I was out there three years ago the new owner had just bought it from out of bankruptcy. The previous owner had let this park go way down. Since then the new owner and his wife had spent countless hours on improvements and it really shows. The majority of the sites are pull through with 50 and 30 amp service good water pressure. I found the WiFi to bet one of the better ones I have used. The staff is friendly and will escort you to your site. A good southern sky for those with sat. A ten minute drive to Montrose where you can find all kinds of Box store and restaurants. In less than a half hour you can be in Ouray and enjoying the San Juans. The trees are still growing it will take some time to get there. In the original sections they are fair but still needs growth. Five or six years ago this was a ranch pasture. We will return.

This park is five miles off of 49. It is very quiet and peaceful with 28 sites. They have just finished up grading the electrical system. Lots of trees and plenty of space between sites. The pads are blacktop, some do need attention. They are in the middle of adding more sewer hook ups, so all most all site now have this. The road in can be narrow at times, but passable. The park people we dealt with were first class. This park is not used a lot, seems lost to the traveling RV'er. We were here this Labor day week end and there were only three of us in the entire park. The bad is we had no cell service, but that was good in a way. We will be back. Should have wonderful fall colors and spring colors here.

This is one of the first four state parks built by the CCC in the thirty's. All sites had cement slabs, some are vertically challenged as they are steep. Lots and lots of trees around, however in the site we were in, I had a clear southern sky and was able to use my Veu Qube. The washroom showers are old but fairly clean. They have washers and dryers with them: kind of sorry looking but worked well. There is a brand new play ground and a beach with swimming allowed. It also has a skating rink for the kids. The fishing was good. If you want a quiet place to kick back and relax, this is the place for you. We will return.

All site were easy to get to. There are three pull-through sites. The washroom is new and clean. A very pretty park and under utilized. We were the only people there over Labor day week end. There is no pool or beach area here. Good hiking trails and great fishing. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There are two sites that have sewer hook ups. All RV sites are paved and are easy to back into with lots of shade. All sites had both 30 and 50 amp service. There is no cell phone reception in the park, but it is good out on the highway. This is the oldest state park in Mississippi. They have a cafe that is open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast ran us $5.00. Water pressure was good and had a good southern exposure for the Sat TV. There were only three other Rv's here over the fourth; should have been a lot more. All our other parks were booked solid. There are two trails, great fishing, and an alligator pond to look at these beasts. This is 5 miles from Hollendale and 20 miles from Greenville. Restrooms were clean and in good repair. The few staff that we saw were friendly and helpful. We will be back. It will be real neat in the fall

One of the nicer parks I have stayed in: neat as a pin. Staff was friendly, and we were escorted to our site. The electric hook ups were great and up to par. Had wide concrete pads on the pull through sites. The picnic tables double as a bench, but the tops were not stable. We will stay here again.

This was a surprise to us great little park, the staff was friendly and helpful, Good electricity great water pressure. They do have a beach swimming area, and three rental cabins. Suggest that buy all of your supplies in Newton before coming here, as Decatur store left a lot to be desired. Good sat coverage on the odd number sites, use our View Qube with no trouble. We could see the lake behind us through the trees. Lots of hardwood trees, and lots of deer. One of the neat thing is all sights have a built in fire ring, and grills. All sights have a flat spot landscaped for tents, and a holder for a lantern. We will be back here a lot.

We were late getting to the park found the office closed a 5.00pm sign in and tried the gate code it did not work, fortunately a staffer came by and took us to a site. Not many camper in there at this time, lots of sites open. Ours was not level, and looks as if they have not even tried to level it since the park was opened three years ago. They seem to be catering to the cabin crowds now. If you have children and they like water parks this would be a good place to stay. we were charged 38.00 for a night unit was charged 24.00 each person was charge 6.00 dollars a night. Site are kind of close together. They put one next door to us that night, and the next day they place three more around us. I had hoped since our last visit there a year and a half ago they would have improved the campground, but they have not. Keep in mine the electric was good, water pressure, and depending on the site good sewer hook ups. Wi-Fi was not working for us.

This is a nicely run park on the upper Pearl River, All of the pads are concrete, and level. There is a good distance between the sites. There is a small pool and play ground for the kids. There is a boat ramp for those who wish to fish, and fishing is generally pretty good. It is a all year round park. There is a small country store near the park entrance where you can buy some items, plus LP gas. Other wise stock up before you get here because the nearest town is 12 miles away. We will come back here in a Mississippi minute

Park is under a major renovation. They are adding a lot of new sites. The one we were in was level and had a concrete pad. The new sewer were place in the middle of the site which really made hooking up our unit a breeze. They seem to listen to the campers. They have a great restaurant meals were reasonable. Staff we found to be very friendly, and helpful. We were in a hollow and cell phone connections were poor down there, but good up by the club house. For those who play golf great course, and nicely restored. A great place, and we will go there again.
