First the good: Wi-Fi available throughout the park, small lakes provide an attractive setting. The swimming pool, while small, was clean and nice. Now the bad: the park is located in an area near Kansas City International Airport, the final approach pattern brings aircraft directly overhead at an altitude of 2000 feet. Over two days we saw about 60 aircraft a day fly overhead, it was noisy and a distraction. The sites are small and very tight. My rig (a 30 foot trailer & F150) barely fit into the site. The pavement was level however the grass space between sites was about 4 feet, so if you have a slide, forget using it. Several of the sites located throughout the park were occupied by full timers who obviously had been there through the winter. To fish the small ponds required a daily fishing pass, which seemed petty to me. The entry pavement slopes considerably, the pavement has scars of several unfortunate rigs who have scraped their way into and out of the park. Very low value to camp experience rating.

Owners were very friendly from the start. They were very helpful and even brought us a fire pit and firewood. Park is open, plenty of room. Pull throughs are gravel and level. Everything is clean, and simple. Nice and quiet at night. Will be back.

The only reason this campground does not get a perfect "10" rating is due to the lack of water / sewer hook-up sites. The campsites are easy to back into to, fairly level and roomy. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire pit compete with grate for outdoor cooking. The restrooms, showers and laundry room (with utility sink) were all very clean. The campground is close to the lake and trails. On the other side of the park is the visitor center and museum. The museum was very informative and don't miss the tours of the old Woolen Mill and Farm House. The Woolen Mill shut down in the early 1900s and most of the original equipment is still in place. One of the best kept secrets near Kansas City for a weekend get away.

Underwhelemed in every way - don't believe the KOA website. Entire campground is cramped, tight and difficult to navigate in the dark with a 30 foot trailer. All pull through sites are extremely close together, if you have a slide out forget using it. Very close to interstate 80, so you'll be entertained by the sounds of 18-wheelers and trucks all night long. Entry driveway a substantial challenge to identify in the dark, and once you're in the driveway, the broken concrete, shoulder drop-offs and grand canyon sized potholes will challenge even the most seasoned RV driver. I felt like I should have gotten an award for simply making it into the property. The stench coming from the cap-less sewer dump station at our site was nauseating. We left after two nights, couldn't stand a third night even though we paid in advance. Avoid this location at all costs.
