Thousand Trails that is now part of ELS. Many sites have electrical issues and many seasonal sites take up most of the park. A lot of unlevel site that ELS just does not seem to want to invest some fill and grooming to correct. If you can avoid, I would unless you are willing to put up with a "issues" and feel it comes with a discounted price. It is not worth their off the street rate. I gave them a 6 only because the people are trying with their limited resources.
2nd time at this park. Everything the other posts say is true except it should be noted it is off Highway 101 and it is extremely quiet. Great place to stop for 2-3 days prior to the Redwoods and California. Harbor views downtown are spectacular.
Just want to echo other comments. If you are headed toward Central Oregon and want a pretty drive this is the starting point. If you have a motor home be sure to tell them if you have a roof top satellite and want to get a clear shot. Level with 50 amps. Great place to stay for a day or two before heading west. Very good owners. Be sure to call ahead.
Price was right with the Passport America. Only 2 things to be concerned about. Get good directions to park, and most likely you will not get satellite if attached to your rig. "Cute" park with good owner. Not much to offer except a safe place with full hookups. Well maintained park for its age. Strict rules on noise!
Easy off on interstate. New owners putting in new spaces for "transient" one night stays. This will make the park better. Mostly all permanents down on the river. If you have a Passport America membership and need a place to stay for the night in the area, then this would be suitable. We stayed in a pull thru with easy access. OK for the price.
Office personal were very friendly and helpful. Drive up was nice, clean, and appealing. Campsite was well maintained. We stayed 3 nights and found they also have a nice club house to use. Nice pull thru. If you are going to LBJ Ranch and home it the best place to stay as it is between town and the ranch. Right on Hwy but no noticeable noise.
Nice Membership campground. Large sites with full service including 50 amp. Site spaced far apart and level. Nice golf course down the road, if you golf. Some interstate noise, but not too noticeable. If you are visiting Columbus, it is much better then options there and worth the extra 30 miles. Excellent laundry, as well
Dropped rating for no family lodge or game room. Mostly grass sites. Wonderfully managed park, friendly and very helpful. Even free coffee. Lots to do in the area. Cleanest showers you will ever see. So if you cannot get full service you are not penalized. Would highly recommend. Great pool but not heated. Wonderful spa.
Completely disagree with the reviews. This is an overrated campground. TL gives this a 5 and 6. That is a low rating for them and they got it right. The manager is horrible. Would love to talk personally to the owner to tell him how his manager is running this park into the ground. It could be a really nice GC with better management. Will not be back and would not recommend you use this camp.
Park part of a mobile home park but separate. Right off US Hwy 60 but road noise was not bad. Close to Springfield so easy access to everything. Pull through sites, big rig friendly park. Found park by accident when Springfield parks were rated poorly. Good spot to use if you're looking for a park the Springfield area. Park is no frills park but has a laundry.
Come for a day; stay for a week. The location is great for touring Memphis. Large pull through sites. Right on the Mississippi River. Looking for place to just lay back and relax this is it. Plenty to see in Memphis. No pool or activity center, but there was wi-fi and a great view. Plus you can fish from their two ponds. Relatively small park but three sections spaced out over a large area. Can go into the trees or out in the open. Good location for large rigs
Stayed here during a Habitat for Humanity project for 2 weeks. Habitat paid part of the camp fees. Front of park is all permanent sites and back is the RV park. Quiet, well shaded, and gives you a state park feel. Can accommodate big rigs. To get to the park you need to take US 90 which is a killer to motor homes, really rough in parts. If you need to be in the area of Thibodaux or Houma I would recommend the park for your stay. Plenty of space for animals.
Friendly staff. Centrally located. If you are using the Medical Center it is a must stay. Traffic is noisy, sights are tight, speed bumps are murder. Good stay to explore Houston. Pricey for what they offer except location. Would trying and find a park north of Houston the next time. More to see in Houston than you think. Easy on and off of I-610. Sites barely fit a 40' motor home.
Great overnight stay. Clean park. Secluded. Quiet. Wildlife viewings. Tour the prettiest caves in America. No other decent park on I-10 and found this by accident. Really loved it. It is 7 miles off Interstate, but road is all paved and good. Definitely will stay there again on trip across Texas. We stayed 2 nights because of storms. Motorhome 37' with tow.
If you are in the area of Port Townsend for more than a week, it is worth joining Escapees and using this park. Lots of activities, great laundry, all pull-through spaces. Well kept park. The 8-10 mile trip into Pt Townsend is worth it. Because it is inland, the temperature is 10 degrees warmer. Spaces are a little close together when they are busy. We stayed for 17 days.
In spite of some other reviews this park is very centrally located for touring, road noise is minimal. Sites are spacious. It does not have the amenities that many parks have, e.g., swimming pool, club house. The location is on the south side of town with a restaurant and grocery across the street. Owners are very friendly. Will stay again. Friendly for big rigs with easy back in or pull-throughs.Great place for short stays.
Tight spaces, unlevel spaces, dusty, difficult to get into spaces due to the park being mostly on a hill. They own the town, so grin and bear it. If you need to see Calgary, this is about it. They need to upgrade their sites. They are making the money but it is not going in the park. The Wi-Fi lounge is a JOKE !
Owner working on upgrading park and add amenities. Office and store needs work. Good kids park. Level sites. Converting an old KOA is not easy. The sites are spaced well and fairly easy to access. Lots to do in area from a sight seeing perspective.
No W or SW, but great large level sites. Lengthy check in process-up to an hour. Heavy use of bathroom during peak season puts a demand on them and do not expect anything but luke warm water. After you get by all the above it is a great location and a better place logistically than Banff if you are going to the glacier.
We stayed the month of March for spring training. Well located to several ball parks. Park has lots of activities. Over size sites. Great park for large motor homes. Gated park. Only negative is the park is on a flight line for the Air Force base and during the day they can be LOUD. Has an 18-hole golf course on site. Rate is monthly. Can stay short term. Half of park is permanent sites. Well managed.
Good value for a short stay. Host is very accommodating. We stayed on a pull through site. This park has no showers or toilets, and several permanent sites but kept up well. Will stay again when in Flagstaff. Price with Good Sam.
