We just returned from a wonderful 4 day stay here. We found that the staff (quite few of them) were VERY friendly and helpful. They were patient with us and even drove us around on their golf cart to find the perfect site for us it was almost closing time). Our site was long, wide and perfect. Campers were very considerate as well. On Wednesday there was an ice cream social which our young children enjoyed a lot, followed by Karaoke which was for adults and children. We have camped all over the country and feel this is the best (non-remote) campground we have ever been to. There is some reviews about the washer/dryers: I used them and although they are old, they are what I call "old school" and worked VERY well. Kids were on the playground playing until dark (wonderful), the pool was clean and large, restrooms and showers were older but VERY clean (tiled and have benches and locking doors, great if you have kids). We witnessed a RV leaving and within 30 minutes, someone was cleaning the site. Ground fires are not allowed but they provide a real fire ring to have real wood fires. Short walk to river and many clean dog walk areas. All in all this is a wonderful campground with a wonderful staff. The facilities are older but very clean and I mean clean, well maintained and what I feel camping should be. We will definitely be back.
Our family just spent a joint camping weekend with our friends here, with 5 young children and 4 adults. We were met by a very friendly staff who let us switch RV sites (with no problem) to accommodate our young children. Hay ride every night and petting farm was a plus and something our kids really enjoyed. Nature trail and gold mine were a nice walk and also a plus. Pancake breakfast on Saturday (yummy applesauce pancakes) served with a friendly smile and small talk. Our group never left the campground and had a blast. We were very happy that we were allowed to have a campfire. My only issue was the pool: it seemed a bit murky and would have been a super plus if it was heated! All in all we are already planning our next trip to the campground.
Park was just what we were looking for. A little oasis close to the city. Staff was helpful and very nice. The ability to have a "real"campfire was a plus! Was easy to hook-up and our site seemed very level. Laundry rooms were new and very clean. Very familiy friendly. All in all we loved it here and will be coming back soon.
The most beautiful view on our trip. The sites were nice but as in all of the Yukon, not always level. We camped in a pull through site which had full hookups. It seemed it would be tight, but we were the only people in the pull throughs at the time. We quickly learned that a CONVOY was coming through and they were all booked the next day. The owner was very nice and caring. The staff was very helpful. My only complaint is the restaurant is not very kid friendly and is VERY expensive. They did have a reasonable take out menu. We passed the "Summit Lake" campground on the way out, and found it was just beautiful but had no hookups and seemed very remote.
Great Park, seemed very crowded but we did pass through during Canada Day! The staff was helpful and moved us when we were not satisfied with the site we had. (The hook ups were on the wrong side?) Had an ok stocked store and a nice pool. Scenery is just amazing, and I did not hear any load noise from any highway.
Awesome! Is all I can say. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. We stayed in a level pull-through w/ all hookups. They did offer satellite TV but you had to have the receiver. Nice safe and gated. Our children rode their bikes and hiked the trails they had along the river. The staff was helpful and made us feel like family. We will be staying here again.
The absolute WORST place we stayed the whole 30 days we were on the road! Pull through sites were more than tight, muddy and the water we had hooked up to had an AWFUL smell. The water also stained our towels and toilet with what my husband says is iron, but it smelled like a sewer smell. Needless to say we unhooked our water line but were still left with the stains on our toilet (YUCK). After check in (people were very nice) we drove to our "pull through" just to be greeted by a plywood building that has a sign that reads, "All meat left in here must be skinned and quartered!!" Dear Lord!! The place is a bit scary. The only thing that kept me from leaving was the nice people camping beside us. All in all next trip, we will plan to drive much further and not stop here.
Great park, family friendly and just beautiful. The food was great and the owners are just wonderful. The SMALL problems we had with this place was the fact that we would have to pay for a shower (the other we stayed at you didn't have to) and that they we really not that clean. I wouldn't say "dirty" but not that clean. Also, the mosquitos were just AWFUL! Which has nothing to do with the park itself. I would say that we really enjoyed our time here.
The CLEANEST shower I have EVER seen!! The owners sure take love and care of this BEAUTIFUL place. By far the BEST RV park we came along. Would like to have stayed a bit longer but didn't have the time. On the shore of a spectacular lake. My family (including small children and a large dog)felt very welcome. On our way back up to Alaska this will be a stop for us. The review say "no sewer" but they do have a dump.
