This is a great place to stay if you have kids that like to swim and ride horses. Some of the sites on the upper campground can be tight, but we like the lower campground - that's where the pool is and a great creek to swim in. Also they have a new Wrangler camp that is awesome if you have horses and like to bring them along. They also have a oldie style store up on top area along with a mini movie theater. You need to come when Loretta has a concert or one of her talent search shows - there's nothing like free music to pass the time. Sites are first come first serve, so it can be a problem for the upper campground. I still rate this place high for fun and things to do.
Very nice and peacefull, site 42 through 56 is the new loop and is close to the beach and playground. This loop has 2 restrooms and shower buildings. Lots of trees and lots of space between sites. Some are small sites and some are pull throughs. We really liked the area.
This is a real pretty area and it could rate higher if a little care was taken...lots of locals in the area..beach is a long way from sites. Big sites and lots of shade and good fishing but just needs some tender care...you will enjoy it just don't expect much.
This place is way off the road and appears to like the seasonal folks better, pool was closed, lots of water to play and fish in but all good sites were taken by season folks. The day we were leaving they basicly pushed me off my spot so a seasonal could get their camper on the spot I was in, it was not even check out time and they started moving the rig in right behind me...basiclly they wree pushing me to go. Don't go here go a few miles down the road to Loretta Lynns for more fun and room.
This is way out of the way and sort of scary getting to it, if you don't go the new back way. This place could use an overhaul for sure. A lot of seasonals and you are looked at as an invader to their area. We stayed one night and that was it. Unless they clean this place up: don't go!
This is way off the road about 13 miles off I-40 but well worth the ride back to it: very scenic, lots of trees and waterfront sites. Clean restrooms and showers, nice beach for the kids. Camp store is a bit down the road but you can drive in to Lexington to Wallys if needed its not that far. Super sites, great just to walk around and see the views. They also have cabin to rent if needed. Its a must place to visit. We come several times a year to this place.
Real pretty out of the way site; alot of sites on water. Swimming beach, store, boat ramp. A few locals but plenty of good sites for everyone. Very nice folks running it. New shower house. Some sites are tight but it's just about 8 miles off I-40 exit 108 on Hwy 22 just past Jackson Tenn.
We love this place, we go several times a year, loretta has really made approvements over the last couple years, she has her old son in law back running it and he is doing a great job. The one on top has paved sites and yes some are tight, lots of shade up there along with campstore, bikes, golf carts to rent. the campground below is our favorite, the pool is down there along with a nice spring feed creek, my kids swim there just as much as the pool. also down below is the stage were you can hear the music or other shows they have going on. check the Loretta Lynn web page to see what is going on.
