New management is very accommodating. We were there to visit sister who lives in Fort Worth. They didn't at the time have full hookups but would accommodate us in an overflow. Luck has it a full hookup became available. We have been to this park several years ago and there is still charm to it. But with the expansion there is much dust on the road (gravel). Since visiting family didn't use the facilities. Price is right.
Price keeps going up. We go there twice a year while traveling in the area to see family. Has gym (most equipment doesn't work), pool (never open when we are there), traffic noise, etc. Will still go there but the rates keep going up. Only people that use the facilities (for the most park) are the permanents that work in the area. Plus side it's close to many attractions.
Nice, clean, and relaxing. Only a couple of minor issues. One, getting out in a 40 footer is taxing and, two, on the next day a ranger showed up and claimed we were behind in our rent (we stopped at the office since we never have been there and paid). Seems communications are lacking and its a relatively small park. Overall wished we could have stayed a second or more nights. Would stay again.
We normally stay at this campground when traveling south or north on I-35 (twice a year). Sites are great, large, concrete with paved roads. However, during this stay the WiFi didn't work and when I called the office the personnel was very indifferent. Basically, they didn't care and didn't have any control. Also, prior to arrival I called the office and was told that the pull through sites had to be reserved. When I arrived I was given a pull through site and I asked how long can I stay on this site. I was told the pull through cannot be reserved so its mine (???). Also, be aware the rate had drastically gone up. I would expect for $45 a night I would get WiFi. Next time I might travel a little farther to save money. We don't gamble. I'd give it a 10 if rates were reasonable, WiFi worked, and office staff received some training.
Nice campground. Limited sites with sewer and very busy during the weekends. Reservations are a must for weekends. Stayed two nights and enjoyed it. Large tiered patio areas with fire pit and grill. Surrounded by large trees which is good for shade but makes satellite difficult. I would stay again.
Difficult to get into with large rig. As we got into the campground realized that there was no way to level the rig, large slope. Decided to leave (no one in the office and another tenant blocked our rig. Only level sites where around the parameter which were small back ins occupied by long term tenants. Seriously, as we decided not to attempt to get into a site, attempted to determine the best way out and could not tell which was a road and which were sites! Very tight.
Office Staff was friendly. Sites were level. However, several sites (empty) had garbage bags with trash overflowing. And the hookups are at the rear and quite a bit distant from the site. Barely had the ability to connect electric, and water hose was barely able to connect. Didn't even try to connect to the sewer. Weeds / grass combined with sand and ants all over the campground. Only one section (permanents?) had grass and was mowed.
Owners and family very friendly and helpful. Some level sites and several not compacted, meaning you could sink tires or levelers on a large rig if the ground is wet. The rates went up to $30 and there are no discounts.
Very nice park. Needs some improvement in the campground area, such as trimming trees and leveling of some of the campsites. Pets are only allowed in the main campground area and not around the lake and the rest of the recreation area. Cummings has opened the campground to FMCA and Good Sam and is hoping for more usage. Very busy during weekends and impossible to get in during holidays due to company events. There is a gun range in the campground which can be frightening for pets.
Enjoyed our stay. Only beef is that they advertise complementary wireless internet and cable TV. Cable TV was not turned on and the internet was Tangonet (meaning you paid). I was told they decided to only provide cable TV for long term folks. And we noticed some sites were filled with ants.
There is great water, electric, and size of sites here. It's also close to shopping, etc. A "Disneyland" for kids, and parents! If you don't have any kids, stay away during the weekends. Had next door family allow their kids to throw golf balls at our coach! Extremely busy during weekends.
This could be a great campground, but the electrical system is bad. During hot days (80's) they need to open the distribution box to cool it down (circuit breakers keep tripping). On several sites there are no circuit breakers and our surge protector keep shutting down (low voltage). Their response was to not run everything (ac, tv, etc) yet we pay extra for 50 amps! They stated they owned the park for 6 years yet have not been able to get the electrician to fix the problem.
