This campground changed to Yogi Bear Gloucester Point in 2011. This place is not what you are used to if you like to go to Yogi Campgrounds. We were disappointed the minute we arrived. First complaint was lack of any signage to the campground. We arrived on a Wednesday and missed the turn on an almost unmarked road and had to find a place to turn our 33ft camper around. Luckily it was the middle of the day on a Wednesday so we were able to drive about 1-2 miles in a residential neighborhood and block the intersection to back up the trailer to turn around. It was not easy. We noticed that on the weekend they put up temporary signs to point to the campground. Those were not there during the week and would have saved us a lot of time and frustration when we first arrived. The second complaint I have was the water zone and pool area. Both are nice but the slides are small (one story high). This is not at all like most other Yogi’s we have stayed at where the slides are big and tend to keep the kids entertained for a while. My kids, ages 10 and 9 were bored after about 2-3 slides down. The pool and “water zone” if you want to call it that are way way too small for the campground size. During the week it was fine but on the weekend it was full to capacity in 20 minutes of opening. There was not a chair to be found and hardly a place to put a chair if you wanted to bring your own. It’s a pretty big campground and it was just way too small of a pool area. There is plenty of room right beyond the pool (a large field) where they could have made the water zone or pool area larger but I guess they didn’t want to spend the money. Lastly I was disappointed in the activities. During the summer most Yogi Campgrounds usually have tons of activities going on during the week and on the weekends. They had almost NO activities until Friday evening. My kids were very disappointed. We go to Yogi Campgrounds as our destination because they have so many activities going on. This one did not. The arcade was bare bones at best. I think they had 4-5 old video games. Maybe they will get better as this is their first year as a Yogi but I feel they have a way to go to even come close to comparing to other Yogi’s we have stayed at. A couple of nice things were the bath houses – very nice and the staff – they were always very friendly. And if you have a boat – they are right on the water. We probably would not go back there again.

What can I say? This campground has it all. It’s definitely one of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. We utilized the Pony Express Check-in and it was the best. We didn’t even have to get out of our truck. I would definitely recommend it if you are checking in on a Saturday or Sunday. They have lots of great planned activities and if you aren’t into any of them you can go to the waterpark, Wild West Town, pool, playground, mini-golf, or bus into Ocean City. There is just so much to see and do there. The only few negative comments I have is that the sites are pretty close together and there was a burn ban in effect (not the campgrounds fault) so we couldn’t have any camp fires. It would have been nice if the campground had maybe sent an e-mail to inform us of that so we didn’t bring a bunch fire wood with us. All in all we had a great time and have already made reservations to go back for a week in August 2008.

This campground isn’t as bad as it seems when reading other reviews. However I do agree that it is pretty over priced for what you get. The grounds are nice and the facilities are clean. I do have a few complaints. The staff, (other than one nice retired couple that cleaned cabins), are not friendly and sometimes they were rude. Their planned activities were seriously lacking. They put no thought whatsoever behind their planned activities and it showed, barely any kids showed up for any of them! I think I’m just used to Yogi Bear Campgrounds that go the extra mile when it comes to their activities. We stayed away from the back side of the park (site 371A) so that I could not hear the highway noise but some sites you could actually see the highway through the bushes. They also did not enforce their quiet time as I woke up at 2am to hear a party going on outside the cabin across from our trailer. That was truly a disappointment as I have small kids, luckily they did not wake up. However I didn’t get much sleep that night myself. I had hoped, knowing that it was “Biker Weekend” in Gettysburg, and that many of the campers were staying for that reason alone, that they would have been extra diligent with their quiet time enforcement, since they so clearly mention on their website, “a family campground.” Overall it was just an okay camping experience. We probably will not go back next year.

This is a very nice park. My kids both loved the swim lake and the river. It has a lot of amenities and a lot of activities for kids. The only downside is that if you say in the upper campground (we did) and you do not rent a golf cart (we did) it is quite a trek down to the lower campground that has the swim lake, pool, river, fishing pond, game room, camp store and recreation hall. The only thing the upper campground has (as far as amenities) is a playground. I would recommend they put in another pool maybe in the upper campground area. The game room was not that great - a couple of the games were out of order and another took my daughters money. The bathhouses were clean and the activities were well planned. I would recommend this campground and will probably plan another trip there again in the future.

This is really one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. There is so much to do here. You could easily stay for a week and not be bored. The bath houses were the cleanest I've ever seen at any campground and someone was there cleaning every time I went in one. The water park, which is free to campers was perfect and the Western Theme park looked nice as well (we did not have a chance to go there though). I would go back there anytime and plan to next year (assuming we can get a reservation for 2007!).

Overall this is an okay campground. I do have a few negative comments. First of all they charge you for almost every activity. That includes charges for fishing in their "catch and release" lake. You can end up spending quite a bit of extra money there just to do a few activities. Other than a few staff members we encountered, most were very rude. In addition, they are very strict with their rules. While I agree that the rules should be enforced, they way they go about doing it is very rude. They do have a nice pool area which is the only thing they don’t charge extra for. The snack bar is good and the breakfast was nice as well. We probably will not camp here again.

We just got back from their Easter weekend and I have to say that I was not impressed at all. There were only two real Easter activities, a craft session and egg hunt. That was pretty much it. I have to say that my main problem with this campground has to be the lack of any kind of updates to the buildings and playgrounds. Everything was old and dilapidated. The playground was half falling apart and looked as if it was there since the 1970s. The lime green paint was peeling off all the equipment and inside the tube on the slide was all kinds of graphic graffiti. Luckily my 4 year old daughter cant read yet but I guarantee there were some older kids who did get an eye full going down the slide. In my opinion there is no excuse for that. This is a playground for children and I feel that the campground has a responsibility to clean off those type of foul words where children are playing. It looked as though this graffiti had been there a while. On the positive side, the bathrooms were clean and looked to be somewhat updated and the staff was friendly. The camp store stocked most things you might forget, although charged you an arm and a leg for almost everything. The snack bar was nice and offered ice cream and other treats. The game room was pretty skimpy with only three video games, one skee ball game and a pool table. Not much of a game room! Since it was April, the pool was closed but seemed very small with the number of camp sites they offer. I can imagine the pool gets very crowded during the summer months. When we go back to Gettysburg, well definitely stay somewhere else.

This was a very nice park with excellent views of the mountains. The waterslide looked fun although I didn't pay the extra money to actually use it. The two pools were nice. One was more for kids with the other being more for teenagers and adults. They had many cabins that looked very nice and well maintained. The only negative I found with this park is that the sites are very close together and offer little to no privacy. Otherwise this was a very nice park. I would stay here again.

Overall this was just an okay campground. Heed the warnings about what site you pick. We stayed near the top of the map (site 139) and could hear the road noise all day and night. I noticed some sites where you could actually see the highway. Our site had lake drainage near the back and it caused our site to be muddy and full of bugs. The one very nice part of the park was the new pool and water slide. It is very well done and my 3 year old daughter really enjoyed it. Unless we camped on the other side of the lake, I don't think I would stay here again.

This is an overall nice campground. The facilities are a bit old but kept clean. This is a nice campground to go for a short weekend get-away but I don't think there is enough to keep anyone busy for much longer than that. We live in Maryland, so it's nice to go there for a couple of nights and stay close to home. The Halloween activities were good. They had a haunted trail that I heard was scary, but I didn't go myself so I can't say for sure. The trick-or-treating was fun for my daughter. We will stay there again.

This is a very fun filled campground with lots of kid friendly activities. All of the facilities were clean and well maintained. The activities provided by the camp staff were fun and well organized. I would recommend this campground to anyone. We stayed here over the long Memorial Day weekend and plan on going back over Labor Day weekend. This is a great campground and will get even better as they plan to add a water slide next year.
