Not really an RV Park, however if one is traveling to/from Canada and need a place to stay, it is very convenient. It is across a minor road from the Motel that owns it, next to where they have an annex. 2 sites have sewer, with a total of 5 sites. We have used it for years over the International Festival. It is close enough that walking to the city center is a nice walk, either by sidewalk or via a Nature Trail along the river.
We had FORD problems in DuBois, and made it to a parking lot. Good Sam could not tow the trailer, however when I called Woodland Campground, the owner found someone to travel over & tow our 5'er in. They were great!! We learned what mountain pies were, and spent a great 4th of July with these folks, which we really enjoyed. We spent almost a week there which was completely unplanned, but they really made us feel welcome. We will stop here any time we are in the area!!
Looking at their map, it shows 25 RV sites, (22 back-in, 3 pull-through, & 3 cabins). Not sure how many tent sites. Roads are not the best, but passable. Some sites are a bit hard to get into. Folks friendly & helpful. Very wilderness setting. Pool looked spotless! Playground with equipment for kids. We stayed here due to a tow vehicle problem, but would stay again if passing this way.
Friendly, convenient, well maintained stop when traveling I-71. As stated, there a lot of permanent resident units here, however they are no problem at all, and in fact they have pull through sites located near the entrance that are easily accessible for overnight stops. These sites are fairly level, crushed rock and have E/W/S. A man-made pond with a fountain allows one to sit & watch the ducks & geese swim. There is WiFi offered, that I believe is pay-for-use, but I use a Cingular cell phone for Internet & did not inquire about it. We stayed here previously in 2005, and will definitely stay here on our next trip through this area.
This is a decent Park; it has trailers in the back, but no problem with them. Office folks were not there when we arrived, but put a sign on door to use any site we desired, and their expected return time. The owners(?)/Hosts(?) seemed to enjoy their parties & music both nights we spent there, but were on the other side of the office/house & it was no real problem. They did nave a rottweiler & another small dog that were allowed to run loose that we were concerned about because of our dog! We would stay here again because of the closeness to Truman State University and the downtown area, but not sure I would want to stay long term.
Ouabache (Indian spelling for "Wabash") Trails Park is a clean, well cared for Park. Roads are a bit narrow, but completely usable. There are 35 RV (W/E) sites & 9 tent areas. A big playground area is close by for kids. A dump station is available, but is a bit tight to pull through. A laundry is available for use (pay). We would return, and if roads were wider & sewer hook-ups were available I would give it a 9.
As previously stated, Staff was very helpful. Free wifi available. Tree's are a bit close in some sites, which are very close together, had to "jig" to enable opening slides. In fact, I am concerned about making the turn to pull out when I leave in a bit! (and I am only 34 Ft) The picnic table in the next site is nearly up against our slide out. Park is far enough away from Interstate to be quiet, but a road right behind the park wakes one up by about 5 AM with traffic noise each morning. It is convenient to many local attractions and we would stay here again, but would be more particular about the site assigned. Good laundry machines, pool looked good, but was busy and enjoyed by many folks. Bathroom & shower areas were OK, but because of heavy usage, could be cleaned more often than the scheduled once-per-day.
As stated, very friendly campground! We were here foe a 1 night stay, bur was GREAT for us! Is on a slight hillside, but sites are level They have Satellite TV wired in already, are waiting for company to hook everything up, Was expecting this weekend, but they were a no show! They told me they would have "fast Internet" as soon as they get the cable done. We found it to be a great stop!!
As previously noted, only restroom & shower is at the office, a ways from many sites! The only dumpsters are at the entrance, as is the pet area, too far from sites for the dog to hold it to make the long walk. They have Wifi, but charge $3.00 per day, and I did not use it. Park is well kept, staff was friendly, and we would return.
Almost afraid to give this a 9 again, as I got jumped on the first time I rated it! To each his own..bathrooms were spotless! Washroom clean & well kept. Cat is very friendly! Folks very pleasant & a pleasure to deal with. Do get some highway noise, but very livable. TV reception is bad! Needs Cable!! I would have considered a "10" if it had cable, but it really needs cable to be a "real" 9! This is at I-24, Exit #1, and Exit #4 has everything one could ask for. Easy to run to Nashville to visit Camping World if one needs anything along that line. We would, and will, return!
Nearly new Park. WiFi much improved since last year and have a strong signal through-out the Park. Bathrooms were very clean, but only 2 M & 2 F showers for entire Park. Long walk up & down a hill to get to them. Roads are a bit narrow & corners a bit sharp for the advertised 70' RV parking! Staff helpful and pleasant. You check in & go pick where you want to park your rig.
Makes a great place to stop going E-W or N-S! Not the best, but location, location, location!! Mgr always is cordial & helpful. I might not want to spend a year here, but can't beat it for 1 night! We will return.
Narrow paved roads. (Flyer says "WIDE paved roads!) Bathrooms & showers are up a big hill in the Motel. Get 1 channel on your antenna, no cable. Free Wifi is available, but really not in the RV park. It's in the Motel. (I got a "low" signal with an external antenna. ) Phone service is poor, none on Cingular). DO NOT get off the crushed stone or pavement this time of year, or you will sink! They hand you a reciept & tell you to just go pick a site. No information given. It is fairly new, but it needs some attention before we would return.
Very well kept up RV Park! All facilities are very clean. Staff was cordial & more than willing to help. TV reception poor, they should have cable. Close to highway & noise, but we did not really find it a problem at night. It somewhat worried me that it had not been reviewed on here, but we were very satisfied and would definitely return!
Clean, friendly, well kept Park. Close to Memphis & all sightseeing areas. Has WiFi with NOMAD as ISP, but I did not use it. Staff was very nice and do all they can to make your stay the best. Good size trees for shade, and usually has a good breeze. They are associated with ABC in Branson, MO. This is our second stay here, and we will certainly come back.
I was almost afraid to stop here, as it had not been rated since 2002! Was OK for an overnight stop. They have a site set up for washing your rig, $0.35 per foot. Roads are paved, sites were fine. As in previous posts, Lady on desk is very pleasant, husband not overly friendly, but was not a problem. Place was nearly full by night fall. Still has weak circuit breakers, at least at the site we were at! 30amp, but would not carry A/C & Micro at same time, which was fine at all other parks.. They did not have a computer hook up with KOA, so not sure one gets credit for a stay, nor if your KOA card actually makes any difference on the price?? I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Free WiFi, free phone at site. Some sites have a fenced yard for pets use. Going to the "Big Texan" to eat, just tell the office & a "Texas Limousine" complete with a big set of horns on the hood picks you up at your site & returns you to site after. (GREAT Restaurant too!!) Do get noise from I-40. Planes are not too bad for as close to airport as the park is. We would definitely return.
Very friendly at check in. Nice, quiet RV Park. Easy to get to the city and Tinker from here. I do not think you could find a better place to spend a night, or longer! We would definitely stay here next time through!
Clean & well kept. Do get some noise from I-40. Free breakfast available. Real friendly at check in. Quite a few "permanent residents", but they were fine. Bath & showers seemed a bit odd, with a door to a Central room, and then coed rooms off of that? Females were a bit hesitant to use them. Seemed a bit expensive, but we spent 2 nights & would come back.
A clue! Office would not accept a credit card! Cash or check only. Lady in the office did speak to me, but only when she was forced into it. Much vehicle traffic to & from Mobile home park behind the RV park. Showers & bathrooms were clean, but old. I would not stop here again.
Seems like this would be a good park if you are there to "visit Vegas", but we used it for just a 1 night stop. They messed up our reservations, but finally got things straight. (I think??) The Rules are enforced selectivity, as mentioned. Too many sites in too small an area. Restaurant is closed Monday & Tuesday. Nothing much there as far as slots & Casinos are concerned. I would not use this as a one night stop in the future.
Sites are a bit close and some are a bit steep making it a bit difficult to hook/unhook a 5th wheel. (They are flat for the 5er) REALLY clean & well kept up. Nice restaurants in the casino, offer great senior meals. Best park we stayed at on the entire trip!! We spent 5 days here & should have stayed longer! We would definitely stay again.
A young couple now owns the place, and are trying hard to please. They keep it clean & picked up. The laundry room was great. We agree there is nothing much in town! Right now construction along the Main Street causes some confusion. Is behind a Flying "J". We spent 3 days here due to a TV breakdown. Would overnight here any time!
Frond desk lady was friendly. Gave me a full hook up site, but then proceded to tell me that a "full time resident" might have the water insulated, but to just dig it out & put it back after! I declined & took a W & E only site. I-80 was noisy, & the park has many full time residents. It was not the best KOA I have seen!!
Not too impressive! No one in office when we arrived, and no answer to phone on way here! As we pulled by the office, 3 guys (workers there??) were standing behind the office drinking beer. As I pulled in to the site I picked, I saw someone unlock the office door. I went up, and it appeared high school kids were in charge. The older girl put her books down & checked me in. All I got at check-in was my receipt. Ditto the other folks comments, however with the partying going on by the office, we did not use their facilities. I would not stop again unless it was the only thing available!!
They advertise as a Good Sam Park, but are not listed that way in Trailer Life Directory. Staff is friendly, but it is run "pretty loose". They do not take credit cards. Is convenient to I-70, easy on & off. Good restaurant close by within walking distance. We would stay here again.
Clean park. Folks in the office were friendly and helpful. Arriving from the East, the girl gave me the secret to find the way! She told me "when it goes to 5 lanes, get to the middle so you have 2 lanes on each side of you"! Hey, it works!! Exit right on to third street & follow the signs. It made it real easy, and believe me I had been dreading trying to find it. We stayed overnight and would certainly stop again.
Not fully opened up yet, but they are working hard on getting it ready. Friendly folks, decently stocked store, clean & neat. Easy on & off I-70. We would stop here again. We stayed overnight here in April 2005 in a 5er.
Handy to I-71, very friendly folks. Level crushed rock pull through sites. It is mowed & neat, has a playground for kids. (though we had none) We stayed for one night passing through, but would certainly stay here again!
